Nguyen Thien Nga: Set a beauty queen record before Ky Duyen, how is she now?

Especially, Ky Duyen's acceptance to be a contestant in a "late bloomer" competition like many other young girls has inspired many people. And Ky Duyen only had 45 days to prepare everything before the departure date to Mexico.

Her victory also gave her another chance to go abroad after many years of being in a pickle. However, Miss Ky Duyen is not the only case that made history by winning the Miss title again.

Previously, Nguyen Thien Nga was also crowned Miss Tien Phong newspaper, the predecessor of the Miss Vietnam contest. After 3 years holding the prestigious crown, she competed in Miss Vietnam 1999 - the contest held in the only odd year to find a national representative to compete in the Miss Friendship World contest hosted by the Ministry of Culture and Information.

The "Miss Vietnam 1996" (the predecessor of the "Miss Vietnam" contest) witnessed a beauty contest between a series of beautiful and equally talented candidates.

Before the final ranking night, the two names that the Organizing Committee considered the most for the title of Miss were Nguyen Thien Nga and Vu Minh Thuy.

At that time, Vu Minh Thuy possessed an attractive appearance, was 1m74 tall and was a student at the National Economics University. She won both the "Beauty of Hai Phong" and "Miss Northern Provinces" contests held in the same year.

Not inferior to her Hai Phong rival, Nguyen Thien Nga has a beauty that makes many people fall in love at first sight. Although she is only 1m70 tall, she has a good background as the daughter of Professor, Doctor Nguyen Huu Phuong and a femal.e studen.t at the Foreign Trade University in Ho Chi Minh City.

In terms of achievements, she was also the winner of "Miss Southern Provinces" in 1996. On the decisive night, the beauty born in 1975 made a strong impression in the behavioral round.

When asked: "Why, in the midst of so many new fashion trends today, is the Vietnamese traditional ao dai still loved by many people?"

She wisely replied: "Because the ao dai is truly a suitable outfit for Vietnamese women, helping them become more graceful and lovely. And the most important thing is that every time you see the ao dai flying on the street, you will see the soul of the homeland there."

With the highest total score, Nguyen Thien Nga was crowned "Miss Nationwide" for the 5th time and Vu Minh Thuy was crowned 1st runner-up.

Later, the beauty born in 1978 worked in the arts for a short time and then switched to office work. Currently, Vu Minh Thuy is the Director of ViettelPay in Ho Chi Minh City.

As for Nguyen Thien Nga, she became one of the most special beauty queens in Vietnam when she continued to seek opportunities in beauty contests.

After 3 years of holding the prestigious crown, she competed in "Miss Vietnam 1999" - a contest held in the only odd year to find a national representative to compete in "Miss World Friendship" hosted by the Ministry of Culture and Information.

Thanks to her own experience, Nguyen Thien Nga was once again named in the highest position and became the only beauty of the country to be crowned "Miss Vietnam" twice.

When representing the country to attend "Miss Friendship of Asean - Miss Southeast Asia Friendship 1999", the 7x beauty queen made a good impression on the judges and international friends with her confidence, behavior, and clever communication.

In this international beauty contest, Nguyen Thien Nga also won the title of 2nd Runner-up right at home.

After completing her university program, Nguyen Thien Nga went to the US to study for a master's degree in business administration and gradually withdrew from all entertainment activities.

After winning a series of prestigious crowns and awards, Nguyen Thien Nga participated in performing in a number of major programs and events such as: Saigon 300th Anniversary Celebration, Charming Vietnam...

During her years away from home, she married a professor who was more than ten years her senior and a former student of her biological father. The marriage was successful and the couple had a handsome, well-behaved son.

However, in 2015, Nguyen Thien Nga's husband passed away after a heart attac.k. She had been depressed for many years. After that, she turned to more positive thoughts to overcome the pain and take care of her chil.d.

In 2018, the former beauty queen returned to Vietnam and participated in some activities of "Miss Vietnam" that year. Entering her 50s, she still retains her captivating beauty.
