Artist Thien Kim's full name is Doan Thien Kim, born and raised in Saigon in a family of cai luong artists. Her father is Sau Do (the teacher of the late Meritorious Artist Hoang Giang). She is famous in the field of acting with hundreds of films, from protagonists to villains, leading and supporting roles. Artist Thien Kim had a tearful childhood. Since birth, artist Thien Kim has been abandoned by her biological father, refusing to recognize her face. Her mother gave birth to three children, but all of them were girls, so the father went one step further with the desire to have a son.

Then her mother went one step further. But because of many events, she had to stay with her stepmother. Those are the days that artist Thien Kim haunts all his life. She once confided: "My stepmother is cruel just like in a fairy tale. Every time there is a death anniversary, my biological mother comes to visit but I dare not look because if I look at my stepmother, I will beat her to death. I miss my mother, I want to run back to her side and swoop into her lap like friends of the same age to satisfy my longing for a long time away, but I don't dare.

The cruel thing is, my stepmother beat me but never let me cry but forced me to laugh. The mouth must smile at the will of the stepmother, but tears flowed down her pale cheeks. That childhood terror still haunts me to this day."

At the age of 8, artist Thien Kim moved in with her biological mother and art itself became the warmth that embraced that small heart. Thien Kim started her acting career with the role of peaches and officially became an artist at a young age with the play "Phung Nghi Dinh".

During one performance, her stage was burned by bombs. The piece is still pinned to the body of the artist Thien Kim. Too scared, Thien Kim left Cai Luong and switched to new music, dubbing movies since 1955.

At the age of 19, artist Thien Kim got married, but that marriage was completely devoid of love, but arranged by her mother. A year later, she gave birth to her first son, the boy was 3 months old when her husband died. She swallowed bitterly and took another step, but this time happiness did not smile because she was not loved by her husband.

The pain has not subsided, she still has to put on makeup and gorgeous clothes to step out on stage and earn money to raise her children. Few people know that many nights in a row, when the lights go out, the stage falls, she can only hold her children and cry... As a young girl, she has to work day and night alone to feed her mother, 5 children and 5 grandchildren. older sister.

By 1975, all artistic activities continued to stop, she applied for a job opening and closing gates at a television station. After working for a while, the people of the station realized that she put her to work in the makeup room. The female artist recalls: "Every time I did makeup for students, when there were too many things, I gave them makeup to do. After that, I just reviewed and edited a little, so the work went smoother. ".

"Doing so much, but now no one loves me. They need the image of a mother holding them since childhood, not me. But that's okay, I don't know what to do. Even my best friends in the profession, I don't even need me. Yes, because I go to work at night to earn money to support my children, but I don't do business, do nothing but sing and do art", Mrs. Muoi of "Suddenly wanted to cry" confided.

Lonely in the late afternoon in a nursing home

In the late afternoon, artist Thien Kim lived alone, without relatives or family in a nursing home for writers and artists. Up to now, she has been with this place for more than 20 years. Sharing about her current life, artist Thien Kim confided: "I think being in a nursing home is also an amnesty that my ancestors have given me. Here, I always receive the love of so many people. Audiences near and far come and go day and night".

Age is advanced, but the love of art never cooled in the heart of this simple artist. Artist Thien Kim confided that she did not think about resting. She just wanted to be born and die on the stage. How much energy she wants to devote to acting.

"After retiring, I came to cinema because my friend introduced me to audition. After the audition role, I was accepted by the director and then I got to play the main role in the movie Huyen Tran Cong Chua". Since then, the image of artist Thien Kim has become more and more familiar to cinema and television through a series of famous and popular films.

"I pay because the love of the profession has been smoldering for decades, not because of money. Everyone asks for anything, I pay it. Sometimes, students come here to ask me to help with their projects, I still accept them. Some children are afraid of not having enough money to pay, I encourage them: 'Don't worry, you can pay as much as you can.' Usually, I get paid four or five million dong a day, but many film crews pay me. only 500,000 VND for the role, I am still excited to accept it", artist Thien Kim shared.

Recently, People's Artist Bach Tuyet went to a nursing home to visit artist Thien Kim. The female artist visited Thien Kim's health and learned that her current health is not good. Legs can't walk, only wheelchair to move. In addition, many nights without sleep, along with eating less, her health was quite weak. She only confided with artist Snow White for a short time.

When asked by artist Snow White about her leg pain, she still carelessly shared: "My leg is now lame, now I'm only in a wheelchair, my leg didn't fall, it's just that I can't walk anymore". Although she knows her health is not good, the female artist always reassures people when visiting her.

Going through the years of life filled with tears, now, artist Thien Kim lives quietly, relying on colleagues and plight in a nursing home. His hair was gray, his body was old and weak, and he had diabetes and high blood pressure, but the artist still had a bright smile and devoted himself to art.
