After finishing the many-hour flight, Miss Ky Duyen officially arrived in Mexico - the venue of the 73rd Miss Universe contest. From this moment on, Ky Duyen began to realize her dream of becoming a beauty queen.

As soon as she arrived in the country, Ky Duyen changed her clothing strategy. She confided: "First time participating in an international beauty contest. First time coming to a foreign country far from home and doing everything alone. I felt so good. I struggled to find a way to iron the ao dai in the suitcase, and finally I did it. Not a single wrinkle, the first meeting with the organization when I got off the plane in Mexico was very important."

Fully aware of the need to score points with the organizers from the very first moment, Ky Duyen wore a red ao dai. She was proud and excited to wear this national costume. Each time she wore the ao dai, she had a different feeling.

The journey ahead for Ky Duyen will be very difficult. She will have to face 130 contestants, and face changes in weather, culture, and cuisine. Being well-prepared in all aspects will help Ky Duyen adapt easily and have more energy to conquer the crown.

During the flight to Mexico to compete in Miss Universe 2024, she shared: "With careful preparation, a strong spirit and strong belief in myself, I am ready to represent Vietnam, shine and make a strong impression at Miss Universe 2024."

After 10 years of being crowned Miss Vietnam 2014, Ky Duyen continued to win Miss Universe Vietnam 2024. The performance of the beauty born in 1996 in the final night was recognized by many audiences.

Regarding the matter of recreating H'Hen Nie's achievements, Ky Duyen added: "I don't feel pressured but turn it into a goal and motivation. I will do my best to catch up with my sisters, like H'Hen Nie who is in the Top 5 of Miss Universe. I will look at that to analyze how H'Hen Nie built her story to achieve such achievements. I will learn from her energy and performance skills. I am a progressive person, so I will look at the success of others to try to improve myself and strive to be better every day."

In another development, not as lucky as Ky Duyen, on October 27, the Miss Universe Armenia organization announced that beauty Irina Zakharova lost the right to represent Armenia in the Miss Universe 2024 contest held in Mexico.

"The organization has decided to award the title of Miss Universe Armenia to one of the other finalists who met all the criteria. This decision reaffirms our commitment to a fair and equitable process that meets the high ethical standards of the competition," the organization said in a statement.

After Irina Zakharova was stripped of her title, the second runner-up of the Miss Universe Armenia 2024 pageant, Emma Avanesyan, was given the right to represent the country at Miss Universe.

Previously, the final of Miss Universe Armenia 2024 took place with the victory belonging to Irina Zakharova. She is a singer, 31 years old. Irina Zakharova's victory was met with a strong reaction from the audience because she is Russian but won the beauty pageant for Armenian women. Irina Zakharova does not have Armenian citizenship, is not of Armenian origin and has never lived in Armenia.

Miss Universe 2024 will take place in early November in Mexico. The competition will feature 130 contestants. The Miss Universe 2024 final is scheduled to take place on November 16. The reigning Miss Universe is the Nicaraguan beauty - Sheynnis Palacios.
