Miss Universe Vietnam responded: "After 5 days of coronation, on September 19, 2024, Miss Nguyen Cao Ky Duyen received an invitation letter from MUO (Miss Universe Organization) in Spanish. However, to serve the visa application process, Miss Universe Vietnam sent a request to MUO to receive an English version of the invitation letter. On October 1, 2024, MUO sent back the English version of the invitation letter, and this is the document currently circulating on social networks. However, there was an unfortunate mistake about the date during the data entry process, leading to misunderstandings about the transparency of the contest."

The Miss Universe Vietnam Organizing Committee affirmed that all processes and procedures related to Miss Nguyen Cao Ky Duyen's participation in national and international competitions were carried out in accordance with legal regulations and ensured fairness and transparency. "The incident regarding the date of sending the letter was a mistake and absolutely does not affect the legality or transparency of the competition," the unit added.

In addition, Miss Universe Vietnam also attached 2 emails with full information on the time sent from the Miss Universe Organization. "We also sincerely apologize for this mistake and hope to receive sympathy from the press, media and audience.
