After a series of scandals and accusations from Miss Grand International and Miss Grand Cambodia, recently, the president Mr. Nawat has made an official apology, made affirmations and promises to the contestants and fans.

On the evening of October 10, Miss Grand International held a press conference to introduce the contestants in Bangkok. Mr. Nawat Itsaragrisil - the chairman of the contest - apologized to the contestants and the audience for the noise with the Cambodian side last week. Nawat believes that the contest will take place with the best preparation from the Thai team. "I also want to apologize to the national directors. Don't worry, because if it were in my hands, everything would be better. Don't forget to support all the contestants," Nawat said.

According to the schedule, on October 11, 72 contestants traveled to Pattaya to participate in some activities before returning to Bangkok to participate in the main competitions. Before that, when returning to Thailand, Mr. Nawat livestreamed about the decision to stop activities in Cambodia. He said that the Cambodian side organized the event unprofessionally from the first day of the competition.

Accordingly, in the early morning of October 7, the Miss Grand International Organizing Committee announced that it had stripped the host Cambodia of its hosting rights, citing the failure to meet the organization standards set by the contest. Immediately, the Cambodian team opened a livestream to counter-accuse Mr. Nawat of working inconsistently, the Thai team was rude, uncooperative, and made many sudden requests that the Cambodian team had to meet, and the "last straw" of this drama came from the boat tour party on the river.

At a press conference on October 9, the former National Director of Miss Grand Cambodia confirmed that the event on the yacht was at Mr. Nawat’s request. Regarding the reason the boat was late because of rain, Ms. Sokhunthea said that she had arranged another venue, but Mr. Nawat still insisted on getting on the boat and criticized the Cambodian team for not preparing properly.

On Mr. Nawat's side, the chairman also shared with the Thai media that the meal on the yacht was in the plan in advance, but just before the event, the Cambodian team called to cancel. When returning to the hotel, Mr. Nawat worked with the national director of Miss Grand Cambodia. The president of Miss Grand International accused this person of being a "market-shopper" and bullying the Thai team. When the Thai team fought back, the bodyguard of the national director of Miss Grand Cambodia yelled and forced them to sit down and talk. Mr. Nawat asked to work internally, inviting the bodyguard and unrelated people to leave, but the Cambodian team did not agree because they thought everyone present was an employee. Finally, Mr. Nawat decided to pay for the plane tickets and expenses in Cambodia to bring the contestants to Thailand.
