Miss Grand International withdraws all contestants from the host Cambodia, fans are shocked

Recently, the homepage of Miss Grand International - Miss Que Anh contest is participating in causing a stir when making an important announcement about the 2024 season. Accordingly, Cambodia no longer co-holds the position of "host country" with Thailand.

"We regret to announce that Cambodia will no longer be the host country due to the inability to meet the requirements stipulated in the agreement. Unfortunately, they are unable to provide services that meet the qualifications of the Miss Grand International (MGI) organization. We appreciate your understanding and look forward to receiving support from you," said the Miss Grand International website.

This means that Thailand will become the only "host country" of the Miss Grand International 2024 season. This is also the place where the headquarters of the Miss Grand International organization is located. Miss Que Anh and more than 70 contestants from countries and territories will come to Thailand to continue their journey to conquer the crown on October 7.

Miss Grand Cambodia issued an official statement: "We regret to announce that Miss Grand Cambodia will no longer continue the copyright with Miss Grand International because this organization does not respect Cambodia as the host country and does not cooperate with the Cambodian side."

Cambodia became the "host country" of Miss Grand International 2024 in just 4 days. Here, Miss Que Anh in particular and contestants in general participated in a number of side activities. Highlights include an intimate dinner with Chairman Nawat and the top 10 contestants with the highest votes and the awarding of sashes to each contestant.

Immediately afterwards, Miss Grand Cambodia held a livestream to explain more about the incident. Accordingly, the Cambodian team has meticulously planned the location and time before the competition. However, Mr. Nawat - Chairman of MGI - constantly changed the requirements according to his personal wishes, causing the Cambodian organizing team to adjust and prepare accordingly.

One of the typical incidents was the boat tour, which was not originally planned, but the Cambodian side still tried to prepare everything. When it rained, they packed up their belongings for storage, but when Nawat came and saw that everything was not in order, he was very angry. Although the Cambodian team explained that due to unfavorable weather, they had to clean up, Mr. Nawat still did not accept the explanation. The incident surprised many fans and followed the developments of this cooperation breakdown.

This is not the first time Miss Grand International 2024 has changed the venue. Initially, the "host country" of this season was Myanmar. On May 22, the Miss Grand International organization announced that it would not be held in this country.

The final night of Miss Grand International 2024 will take place on October 25 in Thailand. Reigning Miss Luciana Fuster will officially hand over the crown to her successor, closing a brilliant 1-year term.

Vietnam's representative at Miss Grand International 2024 is Vo Le Que Anh, Miss Grand Vietnam 2024. Born in 2001 in Quang Nam, she was the runner-up of Hue University in 2020, entered the top 40 of Miss Vietnam 2020 and won the 1st runner-up title of Miss Da Nang Tourism 2022. She graduated in Korean Language and Culture from Hue University, obtained a B2 - CEFR Korean language certificate and participated in exchanges with the Institute of Korean Culture and Hue City in 2023.

Miss Grand International 2023 Luciana Fuster from Peru will hand over the crown to her successor in the finale. This year's contest also marks the first appearance of Greenland and the return of many countries after a period of absence. In which, Cameroon and Côte d'Ivoire return after last participating in 2014; New Zealand, Norway and Tanzania since 2018; Macau since 2019; Armenia since 2021; Bangladesh, China, Curaçao, Pakistan and Portugal last participated in 2022.
