Miss Universe 2024: The oldest U40 contestant of the season revealed, competing with Ky Duyen

All the contestants are almost gathered in Mexico to begin their journey to conquer the Miss Universe crown. Ky Duyen of Vietnam has landed safely, carrying with her many burning desires of youth.

Of the nearly 130 representatives, 30 are between the ages of 29 and 40. This is considered the season with the oldest number of contestants in Miss Universe history. Among them, the representative from Puerto Rico is 36 years old this year and the representative from Malta is 40.

Beatrice Njoya - Miss Universe Malta is a mother of three lovely children. She has a shiny dark skin and many years of experience as a model. Beatrice came to Malta seven years ago with her French husband and three children. Before Malta, she lived in Ivory Coast and many other countries including France. The couple later separated but Beatrice and the children remained in Malta.

She started her beauty pageant career at the age of 15 and reached the semi-finals of Miss Cameroon. At 18, she pursued a professional modelling career. There was a period of discrimination against her skin colour, but she affirmed: "I am black. Calling me black is not an insult because that is what people see when they look at me. I work, pay taxes and raise children on this beautiful island. So I am honoured to represent Malta as a black woman."

Becoming the oldest contestant of Miss Universe but still maintaining a sexy figure, she said she is passionate about sports: "When I was young, I did gymnastics and basketball. In Malta, I played netball in the second division and regularly went to the gym."

What she has in common with Ky Duyen is that they both bring positive energy to young people in practicing sports. Is this an opponent that Ky Duyen must be wary of in this year's season?

Recently, Miss Ky Duyen - Vietnam's representative - posted pictures of her first activities after arriving in Mexico, the host of the Miss Universe 2024 contest.

On the first day of the competition, Ky Duyen chose a striking red outfit, a long, body-hugging dress, both elegant and discreet, while still showing off her sexy figure. The Vietnamese representative also chose natural makeup and a neat bun, with a red flower accent to match the outfit.

As soon as she landed in Mexico, Ky Duyen had her first activity, which was to interact with the media. The beauty queen showed her comfort, openness, and especially always smiled friendly in front of the camera. Although her forced smile was previously considered Ky Duyen’s weakness, it seems that she has tried to improve a lot when coming to Miss Universe.

Besides, Ky Duyen also had a part in communicating in English. The beauty introduced herself quite simply and fluently. However, Ky Duyen's English intonation was still commented to need improvement.

The beauty queen was criticized for her monotonous expression, stiff facial features, and lack of inner strength in her eyes.

However, Ky Duyen still confidently affirmed: "Before entering any contest, I always clearly understand the criteria of that contest. For Miss Universe, they want to find a girl who understands herself and is confident with what she has.
