Recently, a parent had a post that caused a stir on social media after picking up her child from the Hao Huc Village summer camp. Accordingly, this parent accused the summer camp of charging too high a fee but was not responsible, causing her child to face a lot of psychological crisis.
Known as a unique summer camp model that combines nature experience and Vietnamese village culture, "Hao Hoc Village" is for children from 6 to 15 years old, focusing on helping children discover and love the beauty of their homeland through practical activities. practicing life skills, and developing comprehensively. With the "winged" promotion and beautiful images, this summer camp used to be very famous and attracted the attention of a large number of parents.
However, that shimmering curtain was lifted by the frustrating sharing of Ms. Chu Ngoc Ly (Hanoi) â a parent whose child participated in the 8-day, 7-night summer camp program in Thai Nguyen, from June 26 to July 1. With a not small cost â 18.7 million VND for two children (Ms. Ly's son and another friend) after being discounted â Ms. Ly and her son both expressed their initial eagerness. But the result after the trip was a completely different story: her son had many serious health problems, psychology and bad experiences at the summer camp, completely unlike what was advertised on the fanpage.
Ms. Ngoc Ly specifically shared the "obsessive" problems that her son faced during his participation in the summer camp. "During the summer camp, my son encountered serious dermatological health problems, namely rashes and itchy skin all over his body. More seriously, I also did not go to the toilet for 8 days participating in the camp â a serious health problem for young children," Ms. Ngoc Ly said angrily. The boy's obvious deterioration in health after the summer camp has made parents extremely worried and angry.
In addition to physical problems, Ms. Ly's son is also severely affected psychologically. "My child was also bullied by his friends who participated in the summer camp, causing serious psychological effects," Ms. Ly shared. It is unacceptable for a child to be bullied in an environment that is supposed to be safe and should be closely supervised by an adult, causing parental trust to completely collapse.
Ms. Ly also emphasized that when she let her child participate in the village summer camp model, she determined that it was definitely possible for her to get dirty or muddy and completely accepted. However, Ms. Ly and some other parents said that when collecting a "not small" amount of money, issues related to basic hygiene such as clean water, healthy living conditions, and mental safety are one of the minimum requirements that need to be met professionally. The fact that children are exposed to serious dermatological, digestive and psychological problems clearly shows a serious deficiency in the management and care of children of the "Eager Village".
After her child had health and psychological problems, Ms. Ngoc Ly and her parents contacted "Eager Village" for comments. However, they receive feedback that is not goodwill, irresponsible, and even disrespectful to parents. This is a big disappointment, because the summer camp was once widely promoted.
Ms. Ly publicly shared her experience, emphasizing: "Summer camp is not a place to 'send your children to finish'... There is no life skill more important than a safe, respectful environment with truly responsible adults." This warning caused strong sympathy.
Currently, the fanpage and Google of "Eager Village" are suffering from a "1-star storm" from a series of parents with negative reviews about service, hygiene and unprofessional handling. When contacted by reporters, the summer camp manager only replied coldly: "We have information but no feedback on this issue, so that parents can discuss themselves from their own perspective." This "silent" and "submissive" attitude adds fuel to the fire, making the public angry and raising big questions about the business ethics of "Eager Village".
