In nature, there are many animals that have the ability to flexibly self-transsexualize. Here are some of the species we commonly see and how they transform themselves from female to male, or vice versa.
Eel
In eels, large, long eels have no eggs, while ovaries are only present in smaller eels.
That's because the males and females of eels are completely different from fish.
Most fish, when pecked out without ovaries (females), must have a male (male), whether small fish or large fish. The difference between females and males in fish species is clear and eternal.
For eels it is different. Since eel eggs hatch into baby eels, every one has ovaries. In other words, all baby eels are female eels. But when the baby eels grow up to develop and finish laying eggs, the eels' ovaries begin to change. The tissues that previously produced egg cells will transform into sterile sacs. This phenomenon in science is called "sex reversal." For that reason, the large eels are all male eels.
This property of eels is called " breed reversal" by scientists. After 1 laying, the female eel will transform into a testimonial, from a female to a male, permanently no longer laying eggs. For an entire race, there is a batch of female eels laying eggs every year, so every year a group of male eels is formed, thus preserving the continuation of the race.
Frog
Sex change in frogs is not considered a normal phenomenon. However, this phenomenon occurs frequently in green tree frogs. According to National Geographic, pollution is one of the factors observed to contribute to sex changes in frogs â particularly the presence of herbicides and synthetic estrogens. However, these only cause male frogs to turn into female frogs, not vice versa.
New research has found that frogs also reverse their sex in the wild. Researcher Rick Shine explains: "This isn't just a pollution story â rather, it suggests that frogs can adjust their sex to suit their circumstances and habitat." After studying green frogs in 18 different ponds, scientists observed that on average only less than 5% of frogs changed sex. However, they were unable to confirm a specific cause for this, and it is unclear why in one pond more than 10% of frogs are transsexual.
But researcher Max Lambert points to one potential target: Sex change (which occurs only in the newborn stages of frogs) could develop genetic diversity and eliminate some of the bad mutations during reproduction. Whatever the causes and effects of sex change in frogs, there is still much to learn about these amphibian species.
Clownfish
This fish lives in a harsh social regime. If one of the key breeders is lost, the size, status and sex of the other breeders will quickly change to regain the balance of the group.
Clownfish have an orange body with three white lines. Most of them live in shallow waters in the Indian Ocean, Red Sea and Western Pacific Ocean.
According to the Mother Nature Network, clownfish are hermaphrodites with the ability to reproduce like both males and females. It is interesting that to an appropriate size and conditions, clownfish will have the ability to switch sexes
"If the leading female of the group dies, the lead male changes sex and becomes a breeding female. Meanwhile, another largest civilian was upgraded to a breeding male," said Peter Buson, a biologist at Cornel University.
Butterfly
In some organisms, such as butterflies, sexual differentiation can be seen throughout the entire body. Literally, on the body of the animal displays both the color and characteristics of males and females. This rare bisexual condition is called gynandromorphism. This results from a genetic error inherited during initial cell division.
Butterflies are small, flying, daytime insects belonging to the order Lepidoptera, there are many types, few colors are also present but colorful many colors are also present. Often they live near flowering bushes to suck pollen, nectar, which contributes in helping pollinating flowers. Day butterflies are sometimes referred to as butterflies or butterflies, although butterflies may refer to moths (thrones).
The color of butterflies is made up of thousands of tiny scales, stacked on top of each other. Sometimes it is also colored grains, but under normal circumstances the surface that produces these scales can refract light, so the butterfly's wings have a constantly changing color, sparkling when moving. Often the bottom is gray or brown which is far from the showy color at the top. These ugly colors will serve as camouflage when its wings fold. This will help it get rid of the hunting eyes of other birds and vermin.
