Kim Tieu Long was born in 1974 in Vinh Long, and has been passionate about reformed opera since childhood. Growing up, he pursued a professional singing career. After a while, he met artist Kim Tu Long and was advised to change his stage name to Kim Tieu Long.

After winning the Tran Huu Trang Promising Awar.d in 2003, he became a star in the traditional music field in the 2000s, and won a gold medal at the National Professional Cai Luong Theater Festival in 2004. Kim Tieu Long also sang and acted in films such as Nguoi hat trou, Hau hoa hau, Tieng piano trong mua, Huong nghiep.
