As for NewJeans, after a series of disputes with ADOR, the members announced that they would change their name to NJZ and operate independently without a management company. According to Korean media, at the end of November last year, NewJeans' manager A directly contacted advertisers after the group unilaterally terminated their contract without the participation of ADOR.

ADOR argued that the contract was still valid and asserted that Manager A’s actions were a serious violation. In response, Manager A accuse.d ADOR employees of workplace harassment and filed a complaint against CEO Kim Joo Young with the Ministry of Employment and Labor in December 2024.

A alleged that ADOR company people lured him to come to "discuss work", but then illegally detained him for about three hours, demanding to hand over his personal phone. NewJeans members also expressed their indignation, saying that they witnessed managers and performance directors having their laptops confiscated and being randomly checked by ADOR and HYBE people, putting so much pressure that some people burst into tears.

Meanwhile, ADOR asserted that manager A had arbitrarily contacted the advertiser, attempting to push for a direct contract between the artist and the brand, in violation of the group's exclusive contract. ADOR also said that they asked the employee to return the company's laptop and requested a meeting to clarify the matter, but he repeatedly refused. The company emphasized that there was no detention or coercion.

The Seoul Regional Labor Agency under the Ministry of Employment and Labor of South Korea concluded that there was no basis for the complaint and closed the administrative case. The investigation results showed that the documents provided by the plaintiff were insufficient to prove that there was workplace harassment.

With three previous complaints filed by NewJeans with the Department of Labor and Employment all resulting in no charges, NewJeans and ADOR are now facing an all-out legal battle.

A preliminary injunction hearing will be held on March 7 regarding the maintenance of the company's status and ADOR's endorsement contracts with five NewJeans members. The first hearing date for the validity case regarding the exclusivity contract is scheduled for April 3.
