Doechii: Jennie's collab rapper has a shocking past, unemployment and drug use

The effort paid off, "Alligator Bites Never Heal" was officially named in the Best Rap Album category at the 2025 Grammys. Doechii bea.t out names like Eminem and J. Cole to take home her first golden trumpet in her career. She is the third female rapper in Grammy history to win Best Rap Album, after Lauryn Hill and Cardi B.

In her acceptance speech, Doechii moved the world by sending a message to the black female community: "I poured my heart and soul into this mixtape. I expose.d my life, my pain and my struggles. Few people know that Doechii's early days with music were extremely difficult.
