However, suddenly on March 6, Yuehua announced the temporary suspension of Hwarang's activities due to a personal life scandal. "Member Hwarang has not been able to regain trust and the management company has decided that it will be difficult to continue the band's activities," Yuehua Entertainment said in a statement uploaded to the group's official page.

Hwarang was criticized for revealing a clip, which was said to be a recording of the male singer's video call with a fan that went viral on social media. According to the content of the call, this fan questioned Hwarang that they had caught him in a club. However, many viewers realized that Tempest's squad in the video only had 6 members, instead of 7 as originally. In addition to Hanbin Ngo Ngoc Hung, Hyeongseop, Hyuk, Eunchan, Lew and Taerae, the clip does not feature Hwarang.

Hwarang's continuous absence from concert promotion activities made fans worried. In early March, the group's management company announced the suspension of all Hwarang's activities indefinitely because of the scandal of going to the club during the break due to injury.
