The final night of Miss Grand Vietnam 2024 ended on the evening of August 3 with the highest position of the beauty Vo Le Que Anh. However, from the results to the issues surrounding the contest, they are entangled in controversy and are hotly discussed by people on social media.
Notably, recently, a sponsor accompanying the contest also posted a clip of the CEO sobbing and choking when criticized by netizens. Accordingly, Huynh Thi Nhu Y (SN 1990, An Giang) is the owner of the shrimp salt brand to become a co-sponsor of Miss Grand Vietnam 2024. Her products are constantly promoted by contestants and beauties participating in the contest as well as popular flowers and runners-up. However, this makes the online community express doubts because for the first time a Miss contest has a sponsor who is a spice product.
In addition, many conflicting opinions say that the female CEO "climbs high", swings around Miss to promote her brand even though it is not suitable for the nature of the contest. In addition, the organizer of Miss Grand Vietnam 2024 also frankly shared that she was initially quite worried when CEO Nhu Y expressed her desire to sponsor the contest because she was worried about not having enough money.
In the clips when the shrimp salt "tycoon" posted related to the contest all received many bad comments from the online community. In addition, partly due to the influence of the controversial contest results, as well as the information spread related to Ms. Pham Kim Dung - Head of the Miss Grand Vietnam Organizing Committee and director Hoang Nhat Nam, the brand representative also received "outrage". Some of Nhu Y's sales livestreams were flooded with bad comments by netizens. Therefore, after the contest ended, the businesswoman officially spoke out about this noise.
Unable to hold back his emotions, CEO Nhu Y cried and said: "I sell salt as alum, it's a hometown, everyone? Selling salt is not allowed to introduce products anywhere, is it to be people's hometown, everyone?" Besides, she also said that her enthusiasm when establishing her own brand is for local people to have more jobs without having to go far. Therefore, she wants to do more to be able to spread the product.
"I was talked about a lot, my friends said that I was from my hometown, selling salt and going to sponsor Miss, embarrassed,... And I didn't do anything? I sponsor a contest with the hope that my product will be known by many people, but I don't deceive anyone. But they flooded in and said that I was terrible, really very heartbroken," she added.
Some online communities believe that having conflicting opinions on social media is inevitable, especially with the unit appearing for the first time, sponsoring a big contest. Therefore, netizens for the shrimp salt "tycoon" do not necessarily have to make a crying clip, just continue to focus on their work.
It is known that Nhu Y has been building and developing her own shrimp salt brand for about 6 years now. From a small unit, the product has received more and more support, with huge purchases on e-commerce platforms. Participating in sponsorship in addition to promoting domestic products, Nhu Y hopes that international friends will also know about Vietnamese specialties and brands.
After more than 6 years of development, Nhu Y shrimp salt has always been a hot trend product with a consumption of 150,000 products of all kinds per month. In addition, it is also exported to many countries in the world such as the US, Taiwan, Malaysia, and Cambodia.
CEO Nhu Y shared, in 2016, she fell in love with selling homemade shrimp salt thanks to a chance to make salt for her family to eat fruit, guests came to the house to try it, everyone complimented it and introduced friends to eat and then make gifts.
Grasping everyone's tastes, both Nhu Y and her husband decided to risk making salt to sell. So Nhu Y Shrimp Salt was born. Both Nhu Y and her husband rented their own premises to build a factory, roasted salt by hand together and then put it on a motorbike to sell everywhere, markets of the West such as Tan An, Long An, Ben Tre market, Vinh Long market.... While selling, I learned how to build strategies from friends and salespeople who knew each other in the markets. Everything is hard, but it's okay temporarily.
In 2020, when the Covid epidemic broke out, everything became difficult, so the couple had to pay the premises to arrange to return to their hometown to avoid the epidemic. That time was a challenge as well as an opportunity, with enthusiasm and not accepting to let go of fate, the couple was determined to pursue their passion. The husband works as a salt roaster, the wife learns how to sell online, at first it is very difficult but still has to try.
Fortunately, the efforts of the two have paid off. The remarkable development speed of the online channel helps Nhu Y shrimp salt soon reach more customers. Despite the pandemic, the sales of the owner of Nhu Y shrimp salt still skyrocketed. In a short time, GT sales (distributing products through distributors, wholesalers, retailers, wholesale markets and retail outlets) grew tremendously.
