She said, "After returning from Japan, I started going on business trips overseas. In July 2015, during General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong's visit to the United States, Giang Quoc Co and I accompanied as cultural ambassadors. We had met earlier on our trip to Korea but were not impressed much. On the occasion of going to the US, we had the opportunity to talk and get to know each other better.

MC Hong Phuong said that the two had a period of 6 months of research before getting married.
