The story of Mr. Duong's family's house in Tujia and Miao Autonomous County, Hubei (China) has caused a stir in the media. When living in a "unique" house with an estimated value of up to 800 million yuan (more than 2,790 billion VND).

But because of the remote area, like many other neighbors, Mr. Duong's family has lived in poverty for many years. Mr. Duong said that his family has lived in this wooden house for many generations. Because they do not have the means to repair it, even though the house is damaged, his family still accepts it because of limited resources, just needing a place to shelter from the rain and wind is enough.

To make a living, Mr. Duong's children moved to other places to work and live. Mr. Duong remained in the old house left by his ancestors. For many years, he had to ask the government for monthly subsidies for poor households and lived on this.

One day, Mr. Duong intended to sell the wooden house to save money because he remembered that his parents had told him that this house was made of precious and very old materials. But after the expert came to appraise it, he was surprised because he did not expect his "dilapidated house" to have such a huge value.

Experts say the history of this house is exactly as the old man said, more than 400 years old. But what is more shocking is not the age of the house but the material of the house. This house is not made of ordinary wood because if it were, it would have weathered and collapsed after 400 years of wind and rain. This house is built almost entirely of yellow nanmu, a type of wood known as the "king of wood".

Yellow Nanmu or Yellow Nanmu is a unique precious wood of China. This is the general name for a type of wood with a special texture and shape. On the trunk of the tree, there will be fibers like golden threads, sparkling golden like satin silk under strong light. The "golden threads" in yellow Nanmu are crystals formed after a long period of oxidation of the tree's cell fluid. These crystals are very fine, condensed in the gaps between the wood fibers. When there is strong light, they will reflect and create a unique "golden thread" effect.

In ancient times, yellow nanmu was the wood used by the royal family. It was the main material for the emperor's throne. The wood was also used to build royal palaces, furniture, decorations, and coffins. According to historical records, common people were not allowed to exploit and use this type of wood.

Today, it is a second-level national protected plant in China. Cultivation of this plant is extremely difficult, and the existence of a large house made entirely of yellow nanmu can be considered a miracle.

After experts and the media discovered this "treasure on the mountain", no one could have guessed that the poor man was actually living in a trillion-dollar house without knowing it.

Mr. Duong then made a surprising decision, which was not to sell the house but to donate it to the government. The compensation he received was less than 800 million yuan, but it was still enough for him to retire. As for the house, it became a cultural relic, a local tourist attraction and has been preserved to this day.

In contrast to Mr. Duong's special 'circumstances', in Guizhou, China, there is a massive house, like the White House, which would take several days to see, with 800 rooms.

In 2023, a mansion named "Guiyang White House" located in Guiyang City, Guizhou Province, China became the center of attention with its extremely majestic architecture and similarities to the White House in the US. This mansion was quickly dubbed "the most luxurious mansion in China". The building is officially called the Huaguoyuan Art Center, built with 12 floors and painted entirely white with elaborate European architecture. The value of this castle-like mansion is up to 2.7 billion yuan (nearly 9,500 billion VND). According to Chinese media, the house has a total of about 800 large and small rooms.

What’s more, the building is in a prime location and has an artificial lake in front, overlooking the bustling city square. Located in the Guiyang City Wetland Park, the building covers an area of approximately 18.3 million square meters. It was originally an urban village and is now the largest slum reconstruction project in Guiyang.

One of the most curious pieces of information for the public is who owns this majestic villa and what its purpose was. To date, the real owner of the "Guiyang White House" has not been confirmed. The gates are all under strict security and are not open to the public.

It is rumored that the project was built by Guizhou Honglin Chen Group and that the Group's CEO Xiao Chunhong and his family currently live here. Xiao Chunhong has long been known as the richest man in Guizhou Province. It is also said that this place is planned to be a luxury hotel.

Although it has only recently appeared, "Guizhou White House" has become a check-in location for many tourists because of its magnificent beauty.
