On the days leading up to Lunar New Year, Miss H'Hen Nie returned to her hometown of Dak Lak, and with her family wrapped 400 banh tet and sent them as gifts to people in difficult circumstances in Buon Don and M'Drak districts, Dak Lak province.
Last year, H'Hen Nie's family gave homegrown rice to people on the occasion of Tet. This year, due to the poor rice harvest, H'Hen Nie decided to wrap 400 banh tet with her family and buy necessities (MSG, fish sauce, cakes, sugar...) to send to people in difficult circumstances.
All necessities were transported from Ho Chi Minh City to Dak Lak, because H'Hen Nie and her colleagues personally selected and bought the gifts. She revealed that some gifts such as 1kg of MSG with a small 250gr bag were promotional gifts, so the people who received them would "profit" more. The entire cost of buying the gifts was taken from H'Hen Nie's personal expenses and the companionship of T-Cell, who are fellow Dak Lak residents of H'Hen Nie.
After a long business trip in Yen Bai and Hanoi, H'Hen Nie returned to Dak Lak and quickly joined her family in making banh tet. Her family wraps banh tet every year, but never before has there been such a large number of 400. To complete the 400 banh tet, H'Hen Nie's parents, aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends gathered at her house and wrapped the cakes for 5 hours.
A total of 8 pots were operated at full capacity to cook 400 banh tet. H'Hen Nie and her siblings dug holes, gathered firewood and watched the cakes. Although it was hard, H'Hen Nie was very happy: "These banh tet cakes contain everyone's sincere feelings for the people. Each person has a hand in a step, the bustling atmosphere and the fragrant smell of the cakes make Hen extremely happy."
400 banh tet and 380 gifts were supported by 247Express to be transported to 04 locations the group visited: Ea Wer commune and Buon Drang Phoc, Krong Na commune, Buon Don district; Cu Prao commune and Krong Jing commune, M'Drak district.
H'Hen Nie asked for a list of disadvantaged households from local authorities. H'Hen Nie personally handed out gifts to the people, each person a bag of necessities and banh tet. "It's a small gift, but a big heart. Hen hopes to share some of it with the people on the occasion of Tet, so that everyone will have a more fulfilling and complete Tet" - H'Hen Nie shared.
This year, H'Hen Nie plans to celebrate Tet with her family in Dak Lak and then return to Ho Chi Minh City. Talking about her plans for the new year, H'Hen Nie hopes to have new breakthroughs and spend more time on entertainment activities.
Previously, Miss H'Hen Nie also went to Yen Bai to attend the inauguration of Ta Cho school and the bathroom project at Lao Chai school, Mu Cang Chai. She also made rice cakes and interacted with the local people.
Last year, H'Hen Nie went to Mu Cang Chai to attend the inauguration of Trong Tro school. This time, coming to Ta Cho school, she decided to walk 2 km by herself, climbing the winding slopes to directly understand the difficulties and hardships of teachers and students every day. She said that activities like this are an opportunity to connect the community and a way to preserve traditional cultural beauty.
At Lao Chai school, H'Hen Nie attended the inauguration of the new student bathroom. Previously, nearly 500 boarding students had to bathe around an outdoor pool even in the cold winter. The new bathroom is divided into separate areas for boys and girls, equipped with a hot water system to help keep them warm.
H'Hen Nie was moved: "This is a New Year's gift, with the efforts and hard work of many people but with a common belief that life and the future will be better if we act together. Hen will always remember the smiles of the children. Hen had the opportunity to come here to better understand the value of life and spread positive messages."
