H'Hen Nie did something amazing in 2 months, burst into happiness, completed the "big ship"

Recently, Miss H'Hen Nie happily shared the information that 2 more friendly libraries were awarded in An Giang province. These are libraries number 10 and 11 of H'Hen Nie after 7 years of implementing the friendly library project following the Room To Read model.

Previously, there were 09 friendly libraries inaugurated in the provinces of the North, Central Highlands and South Central regions. H'Hen Nie always felt anxious after each time she went to hand over the library, because she received messages from teachers, students and people in other places hoping that H'Hen Nie would return to school to hand over the library. "At times like that, I feel very sad because I cannot build more libraries, there are still many places that wish to have a friendly library. I can only say sorry and try my best to complete more libraries as soon as possible" - H'Hen Nie confided.

She said that to build a library, in addition to the cost, it also depends on many other factors, so when there are enough conditions to build a friendly library, H'Hen Nie will ask the organization Room To Read to advise on choosing a suitable location and school. This time, friendly libraries No. 10 and 11 have arrived in Tri Ton district and Tinh Bien district, An Giang province. Specifically, friendly library No. 10 at A O Lam primary school, Tri Ton district, An Giang province and friendly library No. 11 at D An Cu primary school, Tinh Bien district, An Giang province.

The first time opening a library in a province in the Southwest region, H'Hen Nie had many emotions. On the way from Ho Chi Minh City to An Giang, H'Hen Nie continuously updated the library images from her colleagues who had come down the day before. Looking at the drawings decorated by teachers on the wall, the books arranged in rows classified by standard color codes, H'Hen Nie was moved and eager to meet the students.

Previously, H'Hen Nie had a 1-week working schedule in Shanghai and continuously flew back and forth between Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City for other activities, but she still arranged time to go directly to An Giang to inaugurate the library. As usual, no matter how busy she was, H'Hen Nie still went directly to inaugurate the library and has never been absent from any inauguration. "In the past, Hen used to read pieces of paper wrapped around loaves of bread, so Hen understood the value of books, many times she craved books to read but didn't know where to find them. So now that she has the means, Hen wants to bring books to the children - also a way to fulfill the dream of the little Hen back then" - H'Hen Nie shared.

At A O Lam Primary School and D An Cu Primary School, in addition to the friendly library, Miss H'Hen Nie also donated a small amount of money to give scholarships to students in difficult circumstances, and Vinamilk milk has accompanied H'Hen Nie in the libraries so far. The 11th friendly library was inaugurated with 100% of the cost from Miss H'Hen Nie, while the 10th friendly library has the support of The Body Shop Vietnam from the revenue from selling fundraising products.

Students from the two schools performed traditional performances for Ms. Hen. Standing on stage to share, H'Hen Nie confided to the students sitting below: "Hen firmly believes that if you form the habit of reading books from primary school, it will be a good opportunity for you to discover yourself later, helping you maintain the habit of reading books when you grow up. That is what Hen believes and hopes when you spend time at this library". At D An Cu Primary School, H'Hen Nie participated in a story reading session with the students and played the role of a giant ship in the story. Every time, H'Hen Nie always takes the time to personally read books and interact with the students.

The friendly library project following the Room To Read model has been implemented by Miss H'Hen Nie since 2018, a total of 11 friendly libraries have been inaugurated: 01 in Lam Dong, 02 in Ha Giang, 02 in Lai Chau, 01 in Dak Lak, 01 in Gia Lai, 02 in Ninh Thuan (September 2024) and most recently 02 libraries in An Giang. Talking about the reason for persistently implementing the project for nearly 07 years, H'Hen Nie said that books are the best friends of students and she wants them to have this friend during their school years.
