Do Kim Phuc (born in 1989) is a name that is very familiar to fans as he has traveled to many places around the world, met famous football players, and was praised for his talent by Real Madrid defender Sergio Ramos.

He is also known as the golden boy of Vietnamese artistic football. However, few people know that to achieve his current success, he has gone through many difficulties.

Since childhood, Do Kim Phuc had a strong impression of the performance of former football star Hong Son competing with world-famous stars like Beckham at the Pepsi World Challenge 2001. He persistently imitated, practiced and soon revealed his personal talent.

But when he saw Ronaldinho's "miraculous" juggling clip, Do Kim Phuc realized that his talent was too small. He determined to practice harder and more seriously.

Not wanting to be accused of neglecting his studies, he temporarily put aside his passion to focus on studying and passed the entrance exam to Hanoi University of Science and Technology. At that time, the time of admission coincided with the time he participated in ATW - the first artistic football forum in Vietnam, so he decided to reserve his results and retake the banking exam to have more time to practice.

Every day, the young man persistently cycled from home to Big C to practice with like-minded friends. After a period of practice, Do Kim Phuc decided to join a competition organized by a French brand. Surpassing hundreds of contestants from all over the world, he won the championship.

The following year, Phuc had his chance to shine when he was invited to participate in Master of the Game - a prestigious tournament sponsored by the freestyle community. In 2013, he won the Asian Championship but his life took a different direction: the coaching path.

Before the continental tournament in Hanoi, Do Kim Phuc participated in the Vietnam Open organized by the Asian Freestyle Football Federation. Due to the negligence of the Organizing Committee, in the position of the second seed, right in the round of 16, he immediately faced the first seed. Not stopping there, in the competition, the referee called the wrong time, causing him to be disqualified and had to accept stopping at the 7th position of the world rankings.

Then, despite becoming champion in the Asian tournament, Phuc missed the tournament because he could not get a visa to compete in the Czech Republic. Meanwhile, the world rankings kept changing, so the opportunity was lost.

After that, he decided not to pursue a career in competition. But his passion for freestyle football still burned brightly. Chances led him to many opportunities to work for major sports television partners such as the Asian Football Confederation (AFC), VTV, Football TV, the privilege of live filming for some tournaments such as ASIAD 18 and Asian Cup 2019, increasing interaction for the AFC fanpage...

At the same time, he was invited to visit many countries around the world such as Korea, Japan, Spain, England... to interact with famous players such as Sergio Ramos, Lukas Podolski, Romelu Lukaku...

At Euro 2024, Do Kim Phuc is one of the rare Vietnamese people who has the opportunity to directly work at each match, but his journey to Germany was not easy.

"My journey to Euro 2024 this time is very special. Before coming to Germany, I had just attended the FA Cup and UEFA Champions League finals. I have only been home for a week and then packed my bags and left. Wherever there is football, I prepare myself mentally to enjoy eating football, sleeping football and exploring everything here.

This is also the first time I have worked at Euro. Before Euro 2021 and World Cup 2022, I only went to watch and always dreamed of working at a major tournament. And this time, the wish has come true, I feel really happy," Do Kim Phuc shared his feelings when having the honor of working at Euro 2024.

Especially on this trip, the freestyle ball player and YouTuber born in 1989 also brought a Vietnamese conical hat and many ao dai designed specifically for each match. Sharing about the Vietnamese conical hat, Do Kim Phuc said:

Secondly, it is very sunny in Germany, so bringing a hat can also protect me from the sun. Especially when I wore a hat to the Portuguese team's training session, many reporters from other countries asked and interviewed me. After that, many of my friends sent me articles that the Portuguese press wrote about a special fan who came to cheer for Ronaldo."

At the 2024 Tiktok Awards, in the category of Video Of The Year, Do Kim Phuc was named to receive the award. The video sharing the moment he became the first Vietnamese athlete to perform at the Laliga National Championship, Spain attracted more than 40 million views.
