The Soul Eater was released in theaters on December 15, produced by director Tran Huu Tan, and the film's plot was adapted from Thao Trang's novel.

People in the village have long been unable to go down the mountain, suffering from a long-standing curse because their ancestors caused many massacres. Phong discovered a strange woman appeared at the wedding, but her father and those around her did not believe it.

After that, a series of murders took place in the village, gradually revealing details related to Thap Nuong (Lan Phuong) - a soul with black magic abilities. Phong protects his family and villagers while also finding the truth of the villain.

After the success of "You and Trinh" and the popularity of the TV series "Us 8 years later", Hoang Ha is one of the reasons why fans go to theaters to watch The Soul Eater . Taking on the role of Phong, Hoang Ha continued to be praised for his acting ability. However, her co-star received negative comments about her expressive ability and vocabulary. Vo Dien Gia Huy's role as Sang was considered weak in the first two acts and only had much "land" to act at the end of the film, when the portrait of the perpetrator was discovered.

In some parts where the character reveals his inner feelings and faces an incident, the actor has not been able to push his psychology to a climax and his eyes lack vitality. Sang and Phong's love story also did not convince viewers because their acting still lacked a bit of "chemistry".
