ADOR management company (part of HYBE Group) has officially released an announcement regarding the current situation of NewJeans . Accordingly, member Danielle will leave the company for violating regulations, while Hanni will be allowed to continue activities with the group.
According to ADOR's announcement, member Hanni and her family returned to South Korea to participate in direct, lengthy, and constructive discussions with the company. During these discussions, both sides reviewed all the events that had occurred, from internal conflicts and contract disputes to the negative impact of the lawsuit on the group's image and activities. ADOR emphasized that the dialogues took place in a spirit of frankness, mutual respect, and aimed for a more objective perspective.
The company stated, "Following sincere dialogues, Hanni has decided to respect the court's ruling and continue her partnership with ADOR." This is seen as a positive sign amidst the uncertainty surrounding NewJeans' future. Additionally, ADOR revealed that Minji is still in discussions with the company. While a final agreement has not yet been reached, discussions are ongoing to broaden understanding and find common ground.
In contrast to Hanni's "happy ending," Danielle's situation has fallen into crisis. ADOR announced that Danielle would no longer be an artist under their management and would immediately leave NewJeans: "We believe it is not feasible to continue with her as a member of NewJeans and an artist under ADOR. Therefore, today the company announces the termination of her exclusive contract." This decision marks a major turning point in NewJeans' lineup structure and opens up complex legal implications.
Notably, ADOR also emphasized that it will pursue legal action against a family member of Danielle and former CEO Min Hee Jin. According to the company, these individuals bear serious responsibility for causing Danielle's contract dispute, as well as leading to NewJeans' departure from the company and delaying the group's comeback. This strong statement shows that ADOR is not only considering terminating the contract but is also prepared to pursue the matter to the end through legal means.
A month ago, ADOR accepted the wishes of two members, Haerin and Hyein, to return to the company. This means that currently, out of the original five members of NewJeans, four have more or less shown a willingness to continue with ADOR, except for Danielle.
The case began in November 2024, when New Jeans held a press conference and unilaterally announced the termination of their exclusive contract with ADOR. In response, the company quickly filed a lawsuit against the group, seeking court confirmation of the contract's validity. By October 2025, the court ruled in favor of ADOR, concluding that the exclusive contract signed on April 21, 2022, remained valid, with a duration of seven years, ending in 2029.
The entertainment industry had hoped that NewJeans would make a comeback with all five members—Hanni, Danielle, Minji, Haerin, and Hyein—after the disputes were resolved. However, given the current situation, it's highly likely the group will return with a four-member lineup, as Danielle faces the risk of a separate lawsuit.
Korean media previously estimated that the NewJeans members could face hundreds of millions of won in compensation if sued for damages incurred during the group's hiatus. If only Danielle were sued, the financial and emotional pressure on her would be immense, making her future career more uncertain than ever.
NewJeans lost everything after "ignoring" ADOR, Hanni's move attracted attention
Hướng Dương10:45:43 14/12/2024Due to a contract dispute with ADOR, NewJeans has lost almost everything. Not only can they no longer use their name when performing, but they also face the risk of being eliminated from Korean music charts and awards ceremonies.
