Functional forces have just stopped a group of people from committing superstitious acts, going to the field, entering the "tiger god" and constantly shouting at the famous pagoda in Can Loc district, Ha Tinh - Huong Tich pagoda.

On March 4, Ms. Tran Thi Thu Ha - head of the management board of Huong Tich pagoda tourist area - said that this unit has just cooperated with the police of Can Loc district (Ha Tinh) to make a record of reminding a woman who committed superstitious behavior when coming to Huong Tich Pagoda to pray for peace.

Specifically, at about 10am on March 3, a delegation of tourists from Quynh Luu district (Nghe An) accompanied Ms. Phan Thi Ch. to Huong Tich Pagoda (Thien Loc commune, Can Loc district) to perform the prayer ceremony.

Mrs. Ch. wore a red tunic of tunic, her head brimmed with a wide-brimmed hat and a man who performed prayers at the Triple Palace. The temple still respects the belief and allows the ceremony as usual according to the rules.

Later, however, Mrs. Ch. appeared in the field, entered the "tiger god" and kept screaming. After that, the people around him prostrated and exhibited behaviors contrary to beliefs, regulating what is not allowed at the temple.

As soon as discovered, the management board of Huong Tich Pagoda cooperated with the police of Can Loc district to ask the tourist group to stop carrying out the above-mentioned act.

The police also issued a written reminder to the woman and asked her not to reoffend.

Mrs. Ch. admitted her conduct was wrong, took the experience seriously, and pledged not to reoffend.

"The first time they came here, they just made a reminder and explained it to the people. The woman acted like she was in the field, saying that the "tiger god" had entered. We have propagated for people to understand. The other woman pledged not to repeat the same behavior. If there is a 2nd time, we will coordinate with the police to handle it according to regulations," said the leader of Huong Tich Pagoda Management Board.

Functional forces have propagated, explained and forced a commitment not to repeat similar activities in the Huong Tich pagoda area.

The group concerned has also admitted its superstitious activity is wrong and will rectify the violations.

In 2024, Huong Tich Pagoda will hold a festival on January 6 (ie February 15), but from January 1, the pagoda has welcomed a large number of visitors.

According to the leader of the management board, up to now, Huong Tich Pagoda has welcomed more than 6,000 pilgrims to the festival and admire.

Located at an altitude of 650m above sea level, Huong Tich Ha Tinh Pagoda is located halfway to the peak of Huong Tich - one of the most beautiful and majestic mountains of the Hong Linh range in Thien Loc commune, Can Loc district, Ha Tinh province. The pagoda has the full name of Huong Tich Ancient Temple. Folk also call this Thom Pagoda. Huong Tich Pagoda follows the Northern Buddhist sect, worshipping the Bodhisattva Kannon.

Huong Tich Pagoda is one of the pagodas with the oldest history in Vietnam dating back thousands of years. Legend has it that the pagoda was built in the thirteenth century during the Tran Dynasty. La Son wife Nguyen Tau once mentioned the history of the pagoda through 2 verses "Huong Tich Tran Trieu - Hong Son the First Phong" (Huong Tich pagoda of Tran life - Erected on the most beautiful mountain in Thousand Hong).

Every year, this place attracts a large number of tourists from all over the world to burn incense and sightseeing.
