Before becoming a content creator, president of Quang Linh Farm and youtuber as he is now, Quang Linh Vlog 7 years ago had a difficult life, working as a manual laborer in a stone factory in Angola, living conditions were extremely miserable.
Taking advantage of the time to go to Angola to help his son Quang Linh with work when he returned to Vietnam to take care of his work. Mr. Pham Quang Quy - the father of the male youtuber had the opportunity to return to the stone workshop where the two worked and lived. The memories flooded back, making viewers emotional, and at the same time witnessing Quang Linh's journey of tireless efforts, to now become a person with a huge influence on society.
Posting on Youtube, Mr. Quy shared a vlog about returning to the stone workshop to visit his old colleagues. It can be seen that, despite many years, the scenery, work and living conditions here have not changed at all. Mr. Quy went to every corner of the stone workshop, asked about his health and filmed for the audience where Quang Linh used to live, 7 years ago. This stone workshop was not only a place to work, but Quang Linh also stayed here, with not very good conditions.
According to the vlog, the audience saw that the stone workshop was quite messy, with many tools for work, not suitable for a place to live. However, Quang Linh had lived here for more than a year, following his father to work in a stone workshop in Angola when he first came to Africa. Quang Linh worked in the workshop during the day, and went upstairs to sleep at night, the way up was just a dilapidated ladder, which looked quite dangerous.
At the end of the vlog, Mr. Quy also sent his regards and encouraged the brothers working at the factory. Mr. Quy also said that he would support the renovation of this stone factory, buy more necessities for the brothers to use, and support some of the work at the factory.
Pham Quang Linh, 27 years old, is from Nghi Loc, Nghe An province. In 2016, after finishing high school, Linh went to Angola, a country in central Africa, to work as a construction worker as an export laborer. After working at construction sites in the city, he saved up and opened an ice factory in the capital Luanda.
On a holiday, Linh's group went to Sanzala village and witnessed the poverty of the people there. He spent his own money to organize free meals, distribute rice and necessities to support them. He created the YouTube channel Quang Linh Vlogs, sharing about life and volunteer activities in Africa, receiving much attention.
When the stone factory was doing well and the YouTube channel was profitable, Linh formed a group of 9 people, including 4 Vietnamese and 5 Angolans, named "Team Africa", and gradually organized larger-scale charity projects for the local people.
Realizing that Sanzala village had never had access to clean water, the group raised money to hire workers to drill wells to provide a source of water for the people. Seeing that the people had no electricity, they installed a solar power system and stretched the power line to each house. He spent two years with the group building and repairing schools, going door to door to mobilize people, and sending 5,000 children to school.
In particular, Linh also helps Angolans grow rice. During the dry season, when villagers have nothing to do, Linh's group guides them in digging ditches, bringing water from streams, and Vietnamese-style agricultural techniques to have food all year round. In 2022, Linh returned home to visit after 6 years abroad. When he returned to Angola, he brought 6 boxes of rice seeds from Vietnam for experimental planting. After a period of care, in April, Linh's group harvested the first rice crop in Angola. "From now on, people will have rice!", he said happily on harvest day.
After the initial success, Linh decided to invest in buying 14 hectares of wasteland, plant seeds, hiring workers, bringing lawn mowers from Vietnam, and building a livestock and crop farm. Some Vietnamese agricultural experts heard the news and came to Africa to support the group with farming techniques.
Linh's YouTube channel, which features videos about life in Africa, currently has 4 million subscribers. He said that income from the channel and community-supported business activities will be used to serve the communities in both Angola and Vietnam.
