"Monster masterpiece" cai luong Bo Bo Hoang (former artist Thanh Hoang) is a co-star of the late People's Artist Thanh Tong, she was also the one who guided and supported Meritorious Artist Vu Linh in the profession. At the age of 75, the female artist has to take care of her food and money thanks to the job of processing hats and hair brooches.
The stage monster Bo Bo Hoang (Le Thi Hoang), born in 1948. The name Bo Bo Hoang is not as brilliant and bright as the reformed stars of the same time, but everyone must recognize her as a "monster" of stage by Dao Thuong, Dao Dang, Dao Poison... are all sweetly played by female artists.
Her talent has been cultivated since she was born into a large family with theater traditions. Her mother was a beautiful, talented peach. Her father is a double.
At the age of 4, Bo Bo Hoang was allowed to sing amateur songs before the show. Every day, she watched the aunts and uncles in the choir perform, so the reformed art penetrated into her soul at an unknown time. In particular, she not only has a beautiful voice but also sings very well.
When she was a child, she once caught the eye of the manager Minh To. This boss established a reformed youth group called Minh To with 4 members including: Thanh Tong, Thanh Hoang (Bo Bo Hoang), Thanh Phuong and Xuan Yen. The child actors excelled in classical plays that required strict singing and dancing techniques.
When she was chosen to play the role of little Bo Bo in the play "Drums to soup" by the Capital troupe, her name turned out to be a phenomenon. Since then, the name Thanh Hoang disappeared and was replaced by the stage name Bo Bo Hoang.
"At that time, everyone loved little Bo Bo so much, when they met on the street, everyone called Bo Bo but no longer mentioned my Hoang's name. The audience gave that name to themselves, from then on, every drama role was Bo. Bo, but I added the word Hoang after it because that's my name," she said.
According to artist Bo Bo Hoang, the second sublimation in her life was the role of a prostitute in the play "Guns at one o'clock". This role helped her win the Thanh Tam Award in 1965. The third sublime appearance in Bo Bo Hoang's life was the role of Cam in the play "Tam Cam" by Huynh Long troupe after 1975. If other artists only needed A role of a lifetime, she is really "rich" when she transforms into 3 characters loved and remembered by the audience until today.
A role helped her identify the name Bo Bo Hoang in the hearts of the audience, the role of a "prostitute" helped her win the Thanh Tam award and thanks to the role of Cam, she bought a house.
Since winning the gold medal at the Thanh Tam Award, artist Bo Bo Hoang has practiced composing and directing, and at the same time passed on the profession by the method of imparting experience to the next generations. She has successfully composed many famous scripts such as: Snake Queen - Pho Ma Le, Long Vuong cocooned her son-in-law, Goddess of Light, Female Billionaire, Debt to her profession... In particular, she was very successful when launching. Composing and staging plays with Persian and Indian colors.
Talking about the difference between the old and modern cai luong, artist Bo Bo Hoang said: "I find the acting style to be good and new, but there is one that I don't like. In the past, they sang it differently. But now the way of singing is different. They like that idol, imitating the same song. In the past, there was no, whose breath, whose voice is unique, no one wants to take it from anyone. Whose name is it? No matter how parents were born, when they sing and become famous, they still have that name, they don't change, they rarely take a stage name."
During her career, Bo Bo Hoang said that in 1968, she had time to leave the delegation to Chau Doc to open a restaurant to live day by day. Returning to work for a while, she met and married artist Nhat Thanh. They have 3 children together but then "everyone goes their separate ways". Referring to this marriage, she said it was a tragic turning point.
The veteran artist recalls: "Once I have a family, I will know what is tragic and what is difficult. I compare myself with a person that no one agrees with, from the theater society to the family. It's not true. But I love it, so I don't care, if it's hard, I'll bear it. In fact, it's really hard. Reviving my children, I crave soy sauce but dare not buy, let money buy rice... I struggled with life. live, sick and decline like an addict".
After those brilliant years, the life of artist Bo Bo Hoang fell into low notes. Due to increasing age, her singing ability is not as strong as when she was young. Losing her voice is a great sadness for an artist, especially for a singer who is admired by the audience for her sweet voice like Bo Bo Hoang. But like a silkworm that has to release silk, being an artist cannot stay away from the limelight. She sought to continue to exist with the profession.
At the age of 75, artist Bo Bo Hoang said she had a left-hand job of making hats and performing costumes. Her clients are classical opera artists. With this job, she can support 8 people including children and grandchildren.
Thanks to this profession, she asserts that her life is very comfortable. "I made the crown myself to act, my colleagues saw the beautiful accessories so they begged to make them use. Currently, I am still healthy, my life is now modest and peaceful in a small house.
Sometimes I feel very happy, sometimes I feel happier than a giant. I'm proud to say that. We don't need anything in the life of a human being now, because we don't know enough, but like me, I find it too much and too happy. I don't have a disease in me, I don't owe money, I just owe the audience's love," she confided.
In fact, in the Cai Luong village, there are many artists who also fall into the same situation. Like the case of talented reformed artist Bach Long - brother of Meritorious Artist Thanh Loc. At the age of U70, he still had to live in a rented house, two meals were rice and porridge at the market.
Returning to artist Bo Bo Hoang, she said: "I see many young people who are passionate about cai luong. I hope that if they are passionate, they will follow and love their profession. I love it then it will fall in love. As I see I love my job so much that my job is loving me, giving me peace in life. It's important to live well, live properly, ethically, with a good mind. I will meet good people they will guide me. If I live without morality, no matter how brilliant it is, it will be extinguished."
