Binh Tinh is one of the typical Cai Luong artists of the young generation, who has experienced many ups and downs, losses and challenges, but with extraordinary energy, she has affirmed her position on stage and in the hearts of the public.
Artist Binh Tinh has just won gold for the role of Princess Ngoc Han in the play Pearl Poetry at the 2025 International Festival of Experimental Theater, marking the 6th gold medal in her career. Previously, in early November, she also won individual gold with her role in the play Eclipse at the 12th China-ASEAN Theatre Week. Off stage, Binh Tinh attracted attention when she participated in the movie The Demon Prince, taking on the role of Lady Tue Lieu. Her artistic journey was uneven: from the age of 4, she played the roles of the masses "falling down, screaming", after taking a break from school to pursue her passion for singing.
Born in an artistic family, his father is artist Duc Loi, his mother is composer Bach Mai, but Binh Tinh did not learn the profession directly from his parents. While her parents guided many big names such as Thoai My, Ngoc Huyen, Thanh Thanh Tam..., her daughter was allowed to grow up on her own.
The first incident occurred in 2005, when artist Duc Loi encountered a traffic problem. Binh Tinh was with her father for 24 days in the emergency room, witnessing her father take his last breath. "And my father has red heels like lipstick...", Binh Tinh often hums this sentence whenever she remembers her father who died when she was only 20 years old â an age when she did not have time to understand much about life. The incident haunts her to this day, every time she hears the sound of street singing, the pain rushes back.
Her father died, the family was exhausted, Binh Tinh almost disappeared from the big stage, not appearing on television. For many years, she only performed at communal houses, shrines, funerals, weddings... living in public contempt and oblivion.
Before the pain subsided, in 2016, her brother â artist Chinh Nhan â died of acute pneumonia. "The only two men in my life disappeared, I became a man from there, on behalf of my father and he shouldered all the responsibility," Binh Tinh shared.
In 2021, Binh Tinh faced the biggest shock: four relatives â mother, aunt, Uncle Muoi and the youngest â died in just two months. At the same time, artist Thanh Dung also left, causing Huynh Long Cai Luong Troupe to have a serious crisis. The female artist recalled: "When I was too negative, I used to think about leaving... there is a time to go to a psychiatric hospital for treatment."
Despite facing many losses, Binh Tinh did not give up. She regained her spirits, looking for personnel to fill important positions in the troupe. Thanks to their efforts, the new personnel met 70-80% of the requirements, and at the same time received additional training. Binh Tinh always says to herself: "If I have left, the Huynh Long troupe must remain", considering this as a wish and principle of life.
Currently, the Huynh Long Troupe has been operating stably, with regular performances and many plays. Binh Tinh is one of the typical Cai Luong artists of the young generation, affirming his strength and being recognized by the public and professionals. People's Artist Hong Van once commented that Cai Luong has found a worthy successor, but the drama has not.
In addition, thanks to the huge legacy of his mother â the late composer Bach Mai â Doan Huynh Long owns more than 100 scripts of Ho Quang Cai Luong, reducing cost pressure and also being used for charity. Binh Tinh also nurtures the next generation through children Trong Nhan, Bao Ngoc, Bella â her daughter with singer Nhat Minh.
Binh Tinh "demanded to escape" the Cai Luong ball, determined to "play big" with a new role
