Information that Ms. Anne Jakkapong - owner of the Miss Universe pageant - suddenly closed all her Instagram accounts has been widely spread in recent days, leading to a series of speculations that she has sold off her shares, left Thailand and disappeared from social networks.
According to rumors, she is said to have withdrawn all capital related to Miss Universe, and transferred a large sum of money, estimated at 6 billion baht (equivalent to more than 5,100 billion VND), to cryptocurrency before leaving Thailand. However, this information has not been confirmed by Ms. Anne.
However, the situation became more tense when her alleged creditors began to review the transfer of 52% of Miss Universe shares.
Some local sources said that this share is now registered in the name of a foreign legal entity. The fact that Mrs. Anne is rumored to have changed her nationality and is no longer a Thai citizen has fueled suspicions that she is deliberately abandoning all ties to the country.
These details caused a stir on Thai social networks, with many people believing that Ms. Anne was "escaping" with the help of the current president of Miss Universe.
Meanwhile, the president of the Miss Universe organization - Mr. Raul Rocha also unexpectedly posted three consecutive long articles, considered a rare confession about the internal situation and controversies surrounding this year's contest.
Although Mr. Raul did not directly mention Mrs. Anne, this series of shares appeared at the right time when her disappearance was causing a stir, attracting more public attention.
In the articles, he described the pressure behind the scenes of Miss Universe and asserted that the controversies about judging were just misunderstandings caused by a "self-proclaimed musician".
According to him, this person is accused of taking advantage of the contest's reputation to create a buzz for himself, even making up a story related to the two judges "resigning". Mr. Raul said that both judges he respected did not withdraw, and he wanted to protect the truth to avoid damaging their honor.
He also emphasized that Miss Universe is a private organization, not using public money or state funding. All costs for contestants, guests and judges are covered by the organization. Mr. Raul affirmed that the experience that contestants receive during the 20 days of concentration is completely worthy of the global title that Miss Universe has built up over many years.
He specifically wrote: "Living together for 20 days, 24 hours a day, will inevitably lead to countless situations where discipline, responsibility, professionalism, sisterhood, service spirit and many other values must be put first, especially loyalty to all other contestants.
Among other factors, these are factors that the disciplinary panel will consider, along with a private interview and then a jury assessment. It is reasonable to understand that it is not possible to determine who will represent the organization globally simply by observing and judging three hours of performance.
Three hours on stage did not reflect all the qualities that, in my objective opinion, the woman who represents us to the world should have. The only fact that remains is that there were no judges from the organization. The musician, who was unknown to everyone, turned out to be an opportunist, and anyone with judgment could see how an unknown person tried to use the fame of Miss Universe to attract fans.
