Miss Universe Organizing Committee changed the rules at the last minute, no longer accepting Top 10, Huong Giang was overjoyed

According to international beauty site Sash Factor, the 74th Miss Universe Organizing Committee (Miss Universe 2025) has recently officially announced the format of this year's contest with some notable adjustments.

The biggest change is the expansion of the list for the next round. Specifically, after the Top 30, instead of narrowing it down to the Top 10 like in previous seasons, Miss Universe 2025 will select the Top 12. Adding two positions will help increase the chances for contestants to continue competing in more important rounds. Vietnam's representative, Miss Huong Giang, is also expected to be in the Top 12 thanks to strong media heat and stable performance since the beginning of the season.

Huong Giang recently brought good news to fans when she officially entered the Top 3 of the Beyond The Crown award - a category that evaluates social projects with positive impacts. According to the latest update, the Top 3 include: Miss Paraguay Yanina Gomez holding the leading position, Miss Philippines Ahtisa Manalo ranked second, and Huong Giang excellently appeared in third place.

The top 3 contestants will receive awards from the organizers and, more importantly, they will have the opportunity to present their projects directly to the jury. This is considered a great advantage as it helps contestants make a deep impression on their community leadership skills, social thinking and the humanitarian message they pursue – factors that can positively impact the final results.

However, surrounding the Beyond the Crown award, the Miss Universe 2025 Organizing Committee had to issue an official statement to clarify the misunderstandings that appeared on social media. In the statement, MUO affirmed that the Beyond the Crown program is an independent community impact initiative, built to promote education, health, social inclusion and volunteer activities. This program is completely separate from the official Miss Universe evaluation system and jury.

The source of the confusion stems from a statement by Omar Harfuch, one of the eight official judges announced for this year's competition. Harfuch expressed confusion that he was not given a clear explanation of the scope of Beyond the Crown's activities, and hinted at the possibility of an unauthorized "spontaneous jury", which has created confusion about the transparency of the competition.

Immediately after that, MUO denied all false information, asserting that no jury outside the official system was established and the entire judging process still followed the transparency standards. In response to this development and his desire to withdraw, Mr. Harfuch was recognized by the Miss Universe organization as leaving the jury.

Amidst the controversy, the two important competition nights of Miss Universe 2025, including the Semi-Finals and Finals, taking place on November 19 and November 21 respectively, are still being carefully prepared.
