Y Nhi out of the top 20 angrily, Miss World suspected of biasing the hosts India and the Philippines

At the finale of Miss World 2025, Huynh Tran Y Nhi stopped in the top 40. Of the 20 best contestants named, only 5 representatives from Asia and Vietnam are not on this list.

The final of Miss World 2025 took place on the evening of May 31 in Telangana (India) with the competition of beauties from 108 countries and territories. The event was led by Stephanie Del Valle (Miss World 2016) and Indian MC Sachin Kumbhar. This year, Huynh Tran Y Nhi is the beauty representing Vietnam in this prestigious beauty arena.

On the night of the decisive contest, Y Nhi and a cast of beauties from 107 countries and territories around the world went through many performances. At the beginning of the Miss World final, the candidates turned the stage into a vibrant and colorful cultural party in the Dance of the World section with costumes and dances imbued with the cultural colors of their homeland. Y Nhi appears in a design inspired by the Central Highlands with brocade material attached to stones, beads... feats. The 23-year-old beauty scored points with her radiant appearance and energetic dances, mingling with hundreds of contestants to create an impressive performance.

Immediately after the Dance of the World, 108 girls appeared on the stage in groups of 4 main regions: Americas - Caribbean, Africa, Europe and Asia-Pacific. The contestants stride gracefully on stage in gorgeous evening dresses while the MC introduces the names and hometowns that each contestant is representing. Y Nhi appeared last in the introduction, Miss World Vietnam wore a fishtail dress with designer Hoang Tony's feat, catwalk with a confident and radiant demeanor.

After the sari performance - a celebration of the culture of the host country India, 108 contestants returned to the stage to wait for the announcement of the top 40 finalists (10 girls were selected in each region). In Asia, Huynh Tran Y Nhi was the last contestant to be named in the top 40.

Immediately afterwards, the organizers quickly announced the top 20 finalists, each region only had 5 beauties named to go on to the next round. In the Asia-Pacific region, contestants from Australia, India, Lebanon, the Philippines and Thailand won tickets to the top 20. Y Nhi regretted not being on the list. The remaining names in the top 20 are candidates from Argentina, Brazil, Martinique, Puerto Rico, the United States (Americas - Caribbean region); Cameroon, Ethiopia, Nigeria, Tunisia, Namibia (African region) and Iceland, Italy, Poland, Ukraine, Wales (European region).

The fact that Y Nhi is out top makes many people regret. In addition, the Indian representative is said to be biased by the organizers because it is the host country. The faint Philippines is still favored while Indonesia continuously receives important sub-awards and is still out-top like Italy Nhi.

Just before the night of the contest, Huynh Tran Y Nhi shared that she felt quite comfortable, it didn't matter the result. Her father also went to India to cheer on his daughter.

In this year's contest, Y Nhi has a journey that is not too outstanding. She did not win any sub-tournaments despite thorough preparation in all aspects. She failed the top 32 in the Sports contest, the top 24 Miss World Talents.

Coming to the Head To Head Challenge, Y Nhi received a lot of praise with a confident and fluent presentation about the project of setting up community bookcases for students in remote areas of Vietnam. Unfortunately, Y Nhi was also not named in the Head To Head Challenge contest.

In the Multimedia Challenge round, Y Nhi only made it to the top 20 because her clip exceeded the duration specified by the organizers. Accordingly, the organizers require the clips to be only 90 seconds long. But the clip about Y Nhi's journey to participate in the contest is 1 minute and 41 seconds long.

In the Miss World arena, Vietnamese contestants have never gone too deep, but have maintained an intop chain (top 40, top 30, top 12) in recent years. In the last season, Mai Phuong stopped in the top 40.

Huynh Tran Y Nhi was born in 2002, from Binh Dinh. She is a student at International University, Vietnam National University Ho Chi Minh City. Ho Chi Minh City is also studying an associate program at the University of Sydney (Australia). She was crowned Miss World Vietnam 2023, spending a lot of time honing her knowledge and skills before going to India to "fight" at Miss World 2025 from the beginning of May 2025.
