Xuan Son thanked Thien (Chairman of the Board of Directors of Xuan Thien Group - sponsor of Nam Dinh Green Steel Club), whom he always calls affectionately Papa Thien, and affirmed that he would associate his whole career with Papa Thien.

Striker Nguyen Xuan Son considers naturalization and playing for the Vietnamese national team as a turning point in his life, and hopes to recover quickly from his injury to return to dedication. Xuan Son becomes a Vietnamese citizen in September 2024. In the end, Son was named in the list of 26 players participating in the tournament, but was not registered to play in the first three matches of the group stage.
