Xuan Son suffered a serious injury in the second leg final against Thailand on the evening of January 5. After a few minutes of first aid, Son was put on an ambulance and transferred to a hospital in Bangkok. The results of the examination and scan determined that Son had a fracture of the fibula and tibia of his right leg.

According to Dan Tri newspaper, Xuan Son will return to Vietnam for surgery at the Center for Orthopaedics and Sports Medicin.e, Vinmec International General Hospital.
