Citing the above statement, "CEO Vuong Long" confused information related to the sweetener 951 - Aspartame. Specifically, "CEO Vuong Long" said that this substance has been warned by the World Health Organization (WHO) to be a carcinogen.

"The reason this coffee package is popular in the market is because this side (Laura Coffee) booked a lot of Tiktokers to promote the product. Actually, Tiktokers don't have enough knowledge to understand the quality of this product," the account "CEO Vuong Long" led public opinion.

From then on, "CEO Vuong Long" advised Tiktokers to remove videos advertising Laura Coffee products to protect the health of their customers.

After one day of posting, this video had 3.8 million views, hundreds of thousands of interactions and shares, seriously affecting the business's reputation.

In fact, on July 13, 2023, the World Health Organization (WHO) announced that it classified the artificial sweetener Aspartame as a substance that "may cause cancer in humans".

However, this is only half the truth because in the announcement, the World Health Organization (WHO) noted that this substance is safe if consumed within the recommended daily limit.

Ms. Nhat Kim Anh, representative of the Laura Coffee brand, said that Aspartame is a sweetener widely used in the food industry, only a very small amount is enough to be sweet but has very low calories. Aspartame is recognized by major health organizations in the world, including the FDA and WHO, as safe for health when used in the right dosage.

"Vietnamese law also stipulates and allows the use of Aspartame in food within prescribed limits," Ms. Nhat Kim Anh cited the provisions of Circular 24/2019/TT-BYT of the Ministry of Health, regulating the management and use of food additives.

According to Ms. Nhat Kim Anh, the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA), the World Health Organization (WHO), the European Food Safety Authority (EFSA), and the FAO/WHO Expert Committee on Food Additives (JECFA) recognize Aspartame as safe when used in the correct dosage.

"These organizations have set the acceptable daily intake (ADI) at 40mg/kg of body weight. Laura Coffee commits that the dosage of Aspartame in Laura Coffee products is completely within the allowable limit and safe for users' health," Ms. Nhat Kim Anh affirmed.

Immediately, CEO Vuong Long apologized to the businesses affected by his statement, with a clip explaining the incident on TikTok and Youtube channels.
