Royal marriages all take political interests first, so there is a situation of inbreeding marriage. It was normal for the emperor to marry a cousin, and when the concubine joined the harem, he discovered that he had met an acquaintance.
But it is not because they are close relatives that the Emperor will respect, love or give privileges. At the same time, close sisters who married the same emperor also received different favors.
Emperor Qianlong of the Qing Dynasty lived to the age of 89 and is considered the longest-lived monarch in Chinese history. The Eight Manchus of the Qing Dynasty held an election (recruiting a concubine for the Emperor) once a year. Bat Ky women participate in the baccalaureate between the ages of 13 and 16. Therefore, it can be understood that it is also common for Qian Long to be much older than the concubine in the harem.
Qian Long's former consort was Hieu Hien Thuan Empress, only 1 year younger than him. Du Phi - the concubine loved by Qian Long, is also only 3 years younger.
But few people know, Emperor Qianlong also has a concubine 75 years younger than him. That is Tan Phi. Interestingly, Consort Tan is related to the Empress, both from the Sa Te Phu Sat clan of Manchuria Tuong Hoang Ky. According to the family hierarchy, Queen Hieu Hien Thuan is the grandmother of Tan Phi.
Maybe because Queen Hieu Hien Thuan died when she was only 37 years old, so this niece Tan has never met her. Tan Phi Phu Sat Thi is actually just a small character who does not appear too much in historical records. According to some information, she is the daughter of the supplementary minister of the Ministry of Public Affairs - Duc Khac Tinh Ngac, also the 5th-generation granddaughter of Me Tu Han (great minister under Khang Hi's reign).
In the historical records of the Qing dynasty, in February of the 3rd year of Gia Khanh (1798), Tan Phi Phu Sat entered the palace with the percentile of Tan Quy Nhan. Around the time she entered the palace, there was also a lot of controversy. There is information that Phu Sat entered the palace in the last round of the Qianlong Emperor's last life. But according to history books recording the last years of Qian Long, there was no appearance of this Tan Phi Phu Sat.
Some other information shows that she entered the palace in the Bat Ky election in the 3rd year of Gia Khanh to become the concubine of Emperor Gia Khanh. At that time, she was only 13 years old. But Emperor Gia Khanh gave her to Qian Long (now Thai Thuong Hoang) at the 88-year-old birthday party.
Unfortunately, the way of existence in the harem of this Tan Phi Phu Sat always encountered many difficulties. She was married to Qianlong, which also means jumping into the extreme depths. No matter how rich and wealthy Qian Long was, how talented, how brave, how gentle and affectionate, but at that time he was an old man near the earth and far from heaven. A 13-year-old girl like Phu Sat who deserves the role of Qian Long's granddaughter is "buried" with an old man. Wondering how life has meaning?!
Sure enough, the second year after Tan Phi Phu Sat Thi was married to Thai Thuong Hoang, Qian Long died. So she became a widow at a very young age, living in the solitude of a cold forbidden palace.
Later, Emperor Gia Khanh did not ask or care about Tan Phi Phu Sat, so that she could self-birth and self-destruct. Fortunately, she was still able to survive in the forbidden palace due to her young age. After Gia Khanh, Qian Long's grandson, Dao Quang, ascended the throne.
Emperor Dao Quang had great respect for the only living concubine of Qianlong's grandfather. After ascending the throne, he made Tan consort Phu Sat the city of Emperor Tan consort. It can be said that, even in a dream, Tan Phi Phu Sat Thi could not believe that she would one day be promoted to concubine.
Unfortunately, she had just been appointed as Tan consort for only 1 year when she passed away (2nd year of Dao Quang, ie 1822). Had she been born ten years earlier, when Qian Long was still healthy, perhaps as the granddaughter of Empress Hieu Hien Thuan, Tan Phi Phu Sat Thi would have had a more colorful life. Or enter the palace after Qianlong's death, there is a high possibility that she will become Emperor Gia Khanh's concubine.
Tan Phi Phu Sat Thi was buried in the royal palace of Du Lang in Thanh Dong Tomb. Of the Qianlong Emperor's concubines, she was the last to die. She was also the last concubine to be buried in Du Lang, so her grave is located at the last position, in the last row of the 5th row in Phi Vien Mausoleum.
