Ho Hoai Anh and Hong Dang case in Spain: Court issues verdict, surprising details

Hong Dang's legal assistant - Ho Hoai Anh said that the Palma de Mallorca Court has decided to keep the case file and conditionally suspend the case because it could not find evidence to prove the crime.

Recently, on the personal page of Ms. Tran Tra My - the person who has provided legal support to Hong Dang and Ho Hoai Anh since the incident in Spain, she announced the Decision to keep the file and conditionally suspend the case sent by the Palma de Mallorca Court (Spain) to the two artists.

Ms. Tra My shared: "There were analysis sessions, conversations with Spanish lawyers, times when we were also confused and predicted possible developments, but then everything passed when the investigation agency could not provide any evidence to charge the two brothers. As soon as they returned to Vietnam in early August 2022, the three brothers were very happy, but were still cautious not to announce it to the media when the case was still unresolved."

According to Ms. Tran Tra My, in July 2024, the Spanish Court issued a decision not to continue the investigation, trial and decided to keep the case file due to finding no evidence to prove the crime. "And it was not until today, when I held in my hand the Decision to keep the file and conditionally suspend the case sent to you by the Palma de Mallorca Court, that I wrote these things publicly, as a supporter, interpreter and person who has followed the case since the very beginning," Ms. Tran Tra My wrote.

Regarding the significance of this ruling, Ms. Tran Tra My said that, according to the principle of presumption of innocence of the Spanish Criminal Procedure Code, the accused is considered innocent until proven guilty according to the procedures prescribed in this Code and there is a court verdict that has come into legal effect. This is a fundamental factor in protecting the rights and legitimate interests of the accused, in order to avoid prosecution without sufficient grounds and making decisions that lead to wrongful convictions.

In the case of Hong Dang and Ho Hoai Anh, the court's ruling emphasized that the case was "conditionally suspended" and "filed" - meaning that the court will no longer investigate, prosecute and try the two artists. Thereby, Hong Dang and Ho Hoai Anh can completely return to Spain, as well as Europe, without having to face any restrictions or preventions from the authorities.

Ms. Tran Tra My is currently living in Spain with experience working in the law industry here. In 2022, Tra My spoke out about the case of Hong Dang and Ho Hoai Anh, then became a legal supporter, interpreter, and liaison between the court and the police.

"I believe that when the 'movie' about Mallorca ends, Mr. Hong Dang and Mr. Hoai Anh will officially return to their proper roles in the hearts of fans, those who have trusted and supported them during the recent difficult times," Ms. Tra My wrote.

In July 2022, the incident of a famous Vietnamese actor and musician being accused by a 17-year-old British girl on the island of Mallorca (Spain) shocked Vbiz.
