The case of the principal 'stealing' BHX items: work pressure, 'relaxing' with a box of pickled plums?

The principal of a kindergarten is suspected of stealing from a department store. She was later discovered by staff, force.d to pay compensation, and then posted the information on social media.

In recent days, a video recording images of a kindergarten principal suspected of stealing has received much public attention. According to initial information, Ms. PTHB (40 years old), the principal of a kindergarten, went to the BHX department store in Vung Liem district, Vinh Long to buy things. Here, Ms. B. is said to have stolen a box of dried plums and a box of chestnuts and put them in her handbag, which was later discovered by the store staff.

Ms. B. and the store staff handled the case. Accordingly, the kindergarten principal had to pay 1.5 million VND including the purchased items and the 2 stolen items mentioned above. Afterwards, the department store staff recorded Ms. PTHB's information and took photos with the products she stole and posted them on social media.

After the incident, the BHX store did not report it to the authorities. Vung Liem District Police have learned of the incident through professional work and are verifying it.

Vung Liem District Police will clarify whether or not Ms. PTHB stole anything, and will also investigate the store's employees for humiliatin.g others. According to Ms. B's report, on the day of the incident, she was under pressure from work, paranoid, and unable to control her emotions. Ms. B also provided a prescription for medication that was diagnosed as mixed anxiety and depression.

Currently, Ms. B's school work is assigned to a Vice Principal.

This is not the first case of a 'principal' having to steal. Previously, in the case of a kindergarten principal pawning a teacher's motorbike for 23 million VND, female Principal Ha Thi Tham initially confessed to her crime.

As Lao Dong reported, on February 27, Duy Tien District Police (Ha Nam) announced that they had urgently arrested Ha Thi Tham (born in 1990), residing in Dinh Trang village, Lam Ha commune, Phu Ly city, Ha Nam province, for theft of property.

According to initial investigation documents, Ha Thi Tham is currently the principal of Happy Kids preschool, located in the new urban area of Dong Van, Dong Van town, Duy Tien district, Ha Nam province. At around 1:00 p.m. on January 23, Tham discovered and took the motorbike keys of Ms. Dao Thi H., a teacher at the school, Honda Lead brand, license plate number: 90B2 - 335.33, left on the first floor staircase. Tham then got out of the car, unlocked it and drove Ms. Ha's motorbike to the pawnshop of Mr. Nguyen Van T (born in 1952, residing in Trinh village, Duy Minh commune, Duy Tien district) to pawn it for 23 million VND.

Tham spent all 20 million VND of the mone.y she had received as collateral. Making up an excuse that Ms. Ha's motorbike had been stolen by a bad guy, Tham gave Ms. Ha 3 million VND under the name of the school "supporting" Ms. Ha to buy another motorbike.

Regarding the above incident, the leader of Duy Tien District Police, Ha Nam Province said that the District Police Investigation Agency is in the process of investigating and completing the case file to prosecute Ha Thi Tham for property theft.

According to Duy Tien District Police, through initial investigation, the authorities determined that Ha Thi Tham was an opportunist, whose greed led to her criminal behavior. This childcare center is in the process of completing procedures to operate.

"We accepted the case based on the report of the victi.m Dao Thi H (born in 1994, residing in Hamlet 10, Dai Cuong Commune, Kim Bang District, Ha Nam Province). Ms. H is a teacher at Happy Kids Kindergarten, whose principal is Ha Thi Tham. Ms. H's point of view in this case is to handle the subject according to the provisions of the law" - informed the leader of Duy Tien District Police.

Providing more information about the case, Mr. Dang Tien Luc - Chairman of Lam Ha Ward People's Committee said that Ha Thi Tham is not a local but is originally from Nghe An province. She had been married before. Tham came to Lam Ha Ward to get married and live there for about 2 years now.

According to Mr. Dang Tien Luc, before pawning the teacher's motorbike for 23 million VND, Tham had no criminal record. Through local public opinion, the authorities learned that Tham had a relatively large debt.
