GMC can be considered one of the most successful early 8x,9x bands at the time. As one of the "pieces" of the group, Tuan Khang makes the audience love with his special voice and eye-catching appearance.
GMC was a group that was very popular in 2003-2005. Founded on 18.1.20013, including 5 members Le Dung, Anh Kiet, Tuan Khang, Ung Dai Wei and Quoc Trung (later added Hua Vi Van and Nhat Thang), GMC quickly caused a fever by the beautiful appearance of the members.
At that time, GMC was a phenomenon thanks to hits such as Love Moon Night, Travel Life, Empty Night Sorrow,.... Becoming the hottest group in 2003-2005 with a busy schedule, GMC is the next successful group after the model of 1088 group that has "stormed" before.
However, at the end of 2004, in the midst of the most famous name, Anh Kiet and Ung Dai Wei suddenly announced to "leave the shirt", leaving many bad things with the management company.
Around April 2005, a new member from Hai Phong named Nhat Thang was added to the group. Nearly a month later, the members could not find common ground with the agency and on May 8, 2005, the group officially disbanded, ending 2 years in the Vietnamese music market.
After disbanding, each member of GMC has different paths. Although no longer together, all 7 members (3 versions) have achieved certain successes in life.
Tuan Khang is also a member who used to be very noticed when he was in GMC. After the group disbanded, he also promoted his solo career.
Accordingly, in 2006, Tuan Khang became a solo singer when GMC disbanded. With a beautiful face and appearance and a rather special voice, he constantly has self-composed songs that are well received by the audience. Tuan Khang's most notable product is the album In Love People Say released in July - 2007, the album with hits such as In love people say, I will try to forget you, Men must not cry ... helping Tuan Khang's name become widely known across the country.
In 2008, Tuan Khang became fascinated with dramas through two films directed by Xuan Cuong and Chau Hue: Tracing Traces, Green Haunting. Both of his roles made a lot of impression on Saturday art lovers. In 2010, Tuan Khang took a break from his artistic activities to focus on his culinary restaurant business in District 1.
In 2013, he returned with the album Accidental Memories consisting of gentle ballad songs, which quickly scored with the audience. At the same time, Tuan Khang still tours the province and bars, music teahouses. He also participated in many television series at Southern stations.
In 2016, he married Diane Tran, an American Vietnamese who runs a nail industry in the United States. In early March 2017, Tuan Khang will go to the US to settle with his wife and children, he said that he will run a nail business with his wife but will also participate in music programs in the US if invited to collaborate.
Recalling the event that GMC announced its disbandment after only 2 years of debut, the audience at that time was shocked and disappointed. Many rumors surrounding the reason for "taking off the shirt" of the group at their peak spread quickly.
Accordingly, on the afternoon of May 9, 2005, Tuan Khang (GMC member) invited some reporters to a café (in Ho Chi Minh City). HCM) to present the "case". According to Tuan Khang, the reason why he and the other members wanted to "leave" was because Khanh (Director of Blue Music Company) was not clear in the contract and money, rather exploiting the group's labor. When he was angry, he often used vulgar words towards the group. Tuan Khang was frustrated: "Since the establishment of the group until now, there are only 2 contracts that we have witnessed with our own eyes: Once Mr. Khanh showed it, once the program editor gave it to me."
When asked why GMC didn't know about it, a GMC member said, "Because we don't want to care. In the past month, the group has performed a lot: Sometimes from morning to night, sometimes in Hanoi, sometimes in Ho Chi Minh City. HCM, but the money is too little (each person was just over 5 million in the past month).
Tuan Khang added: "Regarding Mr. Khanh's profanity, the group asked Tuan Khang's father to meet Mr. Khanh for a "private meeting", Mr. Khanh admitted the fault (because of his temper, uncontrollable), but then went back there... Such a situation made the group dissatisfied, and China applied to withdraw from the group. Trung left, the audience could not accept the GMC group when there were only 3 members, so I decided to ask to go. Mr. Khanh said, if he takes leave due to disciplinary violations or members leave voluntarily, each person will pay contract compensation of 400 million."
Before GMC members met with the press, Khanh also met with several reporters in the morning who declared GMC's "defunct." Speaking to the media on the evening of May 9, Khanh said this was the "result" he had "predicted".
"I'm always nervous and I don't know when some of the members will leave. Thankfully, they applied before I decided to take the group to Singapore to make the video clip." Besides, Mr. Khanh also lamented not knowing how to deal with the contract that "missed" to bring GMC to Australia. As for the upcoming album, he said it had to be canceled. Regarding the arrest of each member of the contract compensation group of VND 400 million, Mr. Khanh stated that there was no such large number. He only asked the two departing members of the group, Tuan Kang and Quoc Trung, to pay compensation of 20 million.
