Yun Bin once swore to his heart that he would never meet a teenage girl after two previous broken relationships. The young director began to get to know Tu Tri but did not intend to seriously date; but later was conquered by this girl 7 years younger than this.

Tu Tri knew Yun Bin was transgender since 10th grade, when he watched his first movie. "Tri had a boyfriend and the fact that she fell in love with a trans-guy (who is biologically female but whose gender identity is male). Liking women doesn't reflect her sexual orientation. I don't inject hormones, nor do I take hormones. I haven't had a full gender reassignment surgery yet because I'm satisfied with the present; but must be seen as a man. Tri is not bisexual or gay," Yun Bin said.

However, the two do not know the real-life attack and pressure from neighbors and relatives is the nightmare that haunts them later.

Dating for 4 months, Tu Tri and Yun Bin got engaged. The first time she took Yun Bin home, Tu Tri told everyone that she was "going to get married". When Yun Bin's grandmother returned to Vietnam, she decided to cooperate with the young couple early by calling and talking to Tu Tri's mother. The next day, the director's mother and grandmother went to see auspicious days and chose a date for the engagement ceremony.

Tu Tri and Yun Bin were both worried about getting engaged too early, but now, both feel that the decision that year was the right one. On the other hand, after the first outing in Vung Tau, Tu Tri stayed at Yun Bin's house for the reason that "rainy month, not convenient to return to Ho Chi Minh City". Both live in harmony, so they don't calculate much.

Gallant, psychological but traditional, are Tu Tri's words that describe Yun Bin. The director asked the person he married to be good at housework, so the first two months of living together, Tu Tri had to successfully complete the family work.

Tu Tri's house is in An Giang, in a remote "underground" area. She said, when her parents sent a wedding card, once a relative pointedly said, "If you marry Tri to that guy, I won't go to the wedding and leave your family." This relative insisted that Tu Tri's marriage to Yun Bin was sick and immoral. Not only relatives but neighbors, teachers, work partners... all confirmed that Tu Tri would "finish his life", "destroy", "do no good" if he married Yun Bin.

Tu Tri said that when he was in 8th grade, he used to sing at weddings to help his parents get paid. Tu Tri did not expect that because he was going to sing at a wedding, he was despised by his neighbors. "They say I'm the kind of singer who sings at weddings, so no man dares to marry, he has to marry a girl," she said with tears in her eyes.

There were times when he was offended, Tu Tri waved in his heart wanting to "lose enough". But it was Yun Bin who held her back. From the moment they fell in love, the director told Tu Tri that if his parents didn't agree, they would both stop and be friends because Yun Bin was afraid that his girlfriend would have to choose between lover and family. When Yun Bin first debuted with Tu Tri's family, his heart beat and his feet trembled, but he did not expect that his girlfriend's family would be as precious as a child in the family.

Tu Tri recalls: "In the countryside, they still believed that I married a gay. There was a lot of opposition, my mother couldn't stand it, she wanted us to postpone the wedding while the two families had finished talking, there was only 1 left. We got on a motorbike and drove straight from Ho Chi Minh City to An Giang on a rainy night. A serious talk with my parents when my mother was still not really comfortable. came out and declared: "If no one does the wedding, he will help himself." My grandparents loved me the most. My father initially gave in to my mother, but then he was determined to marry... to marry.

The couple hugged each other and cried in the late night because the frustrations and struggles were partially released. Although from the moment of publicizing their relationship, they were strongly opposed, but they still did not give up hope and never thought about breaking up.

Even Tu Tri lost many contracts. The partner said that "same-sex marriage" singers are not suitable to represent the product; or lose singing shows for students for fear of "spreading LGBT". Yun Bin was very sad, tormented and wondered if it was because of him that his wife lost her job? On Tu Tri's side, receiving love with equanimity is sometimes a bit defiant.

Yun Bin and Tu Tri's lives changed when Tu Tri won the Solo Runner-up with Boléro in 2018, all the harsh treatment of the couple in the past suddenly disappeared.
