From A50 to A80: A couple of soldiers suddenly confessed their love, the whole square exploded with emotions

Among hundreds of soldiers at the A80 rehearsal, Senior Lieutenant Tran Duy Hung suddenly knelt down to confess his love to Nhu Quynh, a sweet moment that made the whole square explode with emotions.

On the evening of August 24, after completing the A80 parade rehearsal and returning to the assembly point at August Revolution Square, Senior Lieutenant Tran Duy Hung, born in 2000, of the Air Defense - Air Force, could not hide his excitement as he prepared to carry out the "secret plan" for the special girl in his life.

Amidst the crowd of soldiers, relatives and people present at the gathering point, Duy Hung decided to approach Nguyen Thi Nhu Quynh, a member of the Vietnam Ethnic Militia, with a bouquet of fresh flowers in hand and officially express his feelings. "At that time, I was quite shy, but when standing in front of Quynh, everything around me seemed to disappear. I knew I had to say all the thoughts I had been harboring since the night before," Senior Lieutenant Duy Hung shared.

This moment happened amidst the cheers of congratulations from her teammates. Nhu Quynh was confused because of the surprise, not expecting her boyfriend to prepare this special spiritual gift. She received the bouquet of flowers and a gentle hug from Duy Hung, her eyes filled with happiness.

Duy Hung said that he and Nhu Quynh met in March this year through a TikTok clip, when they both participated in the parade celebrating the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South (A50). Before the training session, Duy Hung took the initiative to text Quynh to get to know her and meet her at the Mieu Mon training ground.

"My first impression of Quynh was her bright and natural smile, which made me feel comfortable and close from the first meeting," he confided. At that time, Duy Hung belonged to the Air Defense - Air Force, while Nhu Quynh belonged to the Northern Women's Militia.

After A50, their relationship became increasingly close. When participating in A80, they had many opportunities to interact and support each other during difficult training sessions. Quynh's words of encouragement and concern helped Duy Hung feel less stressed and more determined.

Right after the first training session on August 21, the 25-year-old First Lieutenant planned to officially confess his love. He asked the officers for permission to be transferred from Route 1 to Route 2 (Nguyen Thai Hoc - Trang Thi - Hang Khay - Trang Tien) to meet his girlfriend at the same meeting point. "I also asked everyone to prepare flowers and gifts to make everything perfect. The night before, I stood in front of the mirror and practiced every word I wanted to say. The bouquet of 11 flowers symbolizes the only love that will never change," Duy Hung shared.

In the moment of confession, Duy Hung just wanted to say: "Quynh, I love you so much". Clips recording this event quickly spread on social networks, receiving many blessings from the community. "I was surprised that the story received so much attention. It was so touching to receive blessings from everyone", he said.

During the preparation for the A80 parade, Duy Hung and Nhu Quynh only had a short time to meet each other, but for him, those short moments were enough to make them happy. Like many other soldiers, both had to go through rigorous training sessions, but their care and encouragement for each other helped them overcome all difficulties.

"My most memorable memory during the two parades was definitely meeting Quynh, getting to know her and confessing my love to her. Thanks to Quynh's encouragement, the tiring training days became easier. I am very grateful for these events because they helped me meet Quynh," Senior Lieutenant Duy Hung shared.

The couple are from Thanh Hoa and currently, Duy Hung works at Air Force Regiment 925, Division 372. He hopes that after the event ends, he will have more time off with his girlfriend.

This is the second time Duy Hung has participated in an important parade event. He still feels proud and excited. Compared to A50, the weather during the A80 training session was more "pleasant", with cool showers interspersed to help the soldiers feel less tired. Duy Hung said: "Although there is a forecast of rain, I believe that the weather will be favorable on the day of the parade."
