Tran Ly Ly: The first female Director General of the Department of Performing Arts, private life is private

Tran Ly Ly is an art director, director, choreographer and dancer. She is a key and well-known figure in the Vietnamese Ballet and Contemporary Dance scene. Recently, Tran Ly Ly was honored to be awarded the title of People's People's Party.

Tran Ly Ly (born 1978) is a "family child" when his father was a dance instructor and his mother was a dancer of the Vietnam National Opera and Ballet. At the age of 10, Tran Ly Ly went to dance school professionally because of her special passion for physical movements. Since he was in secondary school, Tran Ly Ly has achieved achievements that few young dancers have achieved when he won 2 national youth dance talent awards in 1992 and 1994. After 8 years of professional training in dance, Tran Ly Ly became valedictorian of the Faculty of Dance Composition, University of Theatre and Cinema.

At the age of 19, Tran Ly Ly went abroad to study dance under a scholarship program from the University of Queensland (Australia). After 7 years of studying and working in the West, although he was retained and had many opportunities to shine, in 2003, Tran Ly Ly decided to return to Vietnam to "live and die" with the art of dance and dedication to his homeland.

As a dancer, Tran Ly Ly successfully performed many works staged by famous choreographers in Vietnam and internationally such as Save You, Paquita by Maurice Bejart, Under skin and Body armour by French choreographer Regine Chopinot, Venus in Hanoi by Felix Ruckert (Germany) ... This female artist is also the representative of Vietnam to attend many international contemporary dance festivals in Hong Kong (China), Korea, Australia, France, Germany, Poland ...

Tran Ly Ly has had many successful works thereafter, recognized by Vietnam and internationally such as contemporary dance "One Day", which was selected to be performed at European Days in Vietnam in 2007. In 2012, she choreographed "Zen" and "7X". In 2016, she made "Yes No No" for the second time, a dance about gay people, expressing their desire to be themselves. Some dance works are currently being performed such as Ionah, Fishing Village...

Vietnam's leading female dancer admits to loving dance since childhood and "dance is like breathing to me. Very natural, very gentle and very instinctive." Therefore, according to director Le Hoang, if you look everywhere... Chen Lili saw dancing everywhere. To the extent that a knife or cutting board wants to learn ballet or modern dance, Chen Lily also feels normal. All emotions, all thoughts in people are attributed to Li Li's movements.

In 2018, Tran Ly Ly left her position as Vice Principal of Ho Chi Minh City School of Dance. Ho Chi Minh City went to Hanoi to assume the role of acting Director of Vietnam National Opera and Ballet (VNOB). She became the first female leader in the 60-year history of Vietnam National Opera and Ballet.

Under the leadership of Dr. Tran Ly Ly, over the years, Vietnam National Opera and Ballet has premiered a series of classic musicals: The Sculptor, Swan Lake, Les Misérables... In particular, Swan Lake set a record for the number of nights performed at Hanoi Opera House and created a "ticket fever".

In addition, she also works as an expert, art advisor, director, general director for many big programs in Vietnam such as Vesak Day 2019, Uncle's advice before going away (2019) ... Her strong, bloody way of grasping and leading issues has brought Vietnamese academic art closer and closer to the public.

In addition, she is also known as a member of the jury of several competitions such as "Green Dance", "So You Think You Can Dance", "Perfect Dance" and "Passioned Dances".

In 2019, Dr. Tran Ly Ly was voted by Forbes magazine as one of the 50 most influential women in Vietnam.

In January 2022, Tran Ly Ly was appointed Acting Director General of the Department of Performing Arts. Shortly thereafter, she was officially appointed Director General of the Department of Performing Arts and was also the first woman to hold this position.

In 2023, artist Tran Ly Ly impresses when he takes on the role of General Director of the 31st SEA Games Opening Ceremony. In terms of his personal life, Chen Lili was very secretive.

According to Decision 1431/QD-CTN signed by President Vo Van Thuong on November 28, 2023, 42 individuals will be awarded the title of People's Party. Besides many outstanding artists such as Thanh Lam, Tan Minh, Xuan Bac, Tran Luc, Pham Phuong Thao, Quoc Khanh... Acting Director General of the Department of Performing Arts - Ms. Tran Ly Ly was also honored to be awarded the title of People's Party.

On the morning of March 6, the awarding ceremony of the titles of People's Artist (People's People's Artist), Outstanding Artist (NSUT) took place at Hanoi Opera House.

Sharing with Lao Dong at the awarding ceremony, Ms. Tran Ly Ly said: "This is the highest title for the artist. In my life, I have devoted many works, directed great programs for the community, nation and nation.

In the future, we will think about what we can do to continue to contribute to deserve this recognition."

The acting director of the Department of Performing Arts emphasized: "Currently, I have been moving into state management. Therefore, my goals will be broader, including development plans and strategies for the performing arts industry."

People's Representative Tran Ly Ly once shared, performing arts are a direct means to help people know how to enjoy and connect with works of art (drama, music performance, dance, circus ...).

Without the performing arts, the cultural cohesion and expansion in each person will be greatly limited.
