Ho Chi Minh City: Candidates sobbed because they missed the wrong exam time, missed the 10th grade entrance exam

When informed that he was not eligible to participate in the exam, the candidate burst into tears and said that he was late because he thought the exam time was the same as yesterday's exam procedure.

Due to concerns about the candidate's mood, the exam board was flexible to ask the regional police to take this candidate home, avoiding further confusion at the exam site. According to the regulations of the Department of Education and Training of Ho Chi Minh City, the time to open the bag containing the exam questions is 7:30 a.m., the time to distribute the exam questions is 7:55 a.m. and the start time to calculate the test time is 8 o'clock. Candidates who arrive more than 15 minutes late after the order to calculate the test time will not be allowed to take the exam at that time. Thus, this candidate missed the first exam, which means losing the opportunity to be admitted to this year's public grade 10 entrance exam – an expensive lesson about caution and understanding the exam regulations.

In order to avoid similar unfortunate cases, the Department of Education and Training of Ho Chi Minh City notes that candidates need to be present at the exam site and exam room on time; present citizen identity cards and registration cards. In case they have not been issued a citizen identity card, they must present their student card. If there are errors in the surname, middle name, name, date, month and year of birth, the priority subjects must immediately report to the proctor or the person on duty at the exam proctoring council for timely handling.

Tomorrow morning (7/6), candidates will take the Mathematics exam – the last exam of this year's public grade 10 entrance exam. The exam marking time is expected to last from June 8 to June 25. Exam scores, benchmarks and review time will be reviewed by the Department of Education and Training of Ho Chi Minh City.
