Actor Huynh Tien Khoa is a male star who is no longer too strange to Southern comedy lovers. Going up with his own strength, Huynh Tien Khoa also had to scratch a lot to gain a foothold in the profession.
Huynh Tien Khoa's real name is Huynh Le Hoang Thanh, before having the stage name Huynh Tien Khoa, he used to work as a director under the stage name Hoang Khanh. However, after the shock of being robbed of money by his partner Minh Beo, he gave up his job as a director, then switched to acting, participating in many comedy contests.
Entering the art village with his first leading role in the play Endless Field, however, compared to his contemporaries, Huynh Tien Khoa's career development path was not favorable when the old name Hoang Khanh was only known for nearly a year as a director.
Achieving a lot of success, making a strong impression in the hearts of the audience as a director, he decided to return to acting and change his stage name to Huynh Tien Khoa, which surprised many friends and audiences. Huynh Tien Khoa shared that he had to struggle psychologically with this decision to change his stage name, because he would almost have to do it all over again. On the other hand, this is his mother's favorite and most often called him.
His outstanding career with the comedy skit Debt Collection of Nam Thu in Laughing Through Vietnam, written by himself, directed and acted in a storm on social networks with hundreds of shares, tens of thousands of likes. On the other hand, the role of a virtuous debtor played by Huynh Tien Khoa himself was also noticed and loved by many people, which prompted him to return to the runway after many years of suspension from acting.
Once shared in 2016, Huynh Tien Khoa said: "The past time has been the most terrible time in my profession. When I started my business, the stage was in crisis, the performance was very precarious.
The environment is shrinking, all artists are struggling, so it is not easy for me to live with the profession. The life of a young actor like me is sometimes difficult to the point of going out on the street without having 50 thousand VND in his pocket."
For a long time, struggling to find berths and career development opportunities, Tien Khoa traveled from stage to stage. In the face of the decline of the theater stage, the competition between actors became increasingly fierce, he plunged into writing scripts and returned to school to start studying more directing.
After three years of dedicated study, he started a new job with his debut play Blood Silk at the Sao Minh Beo stage. In early 2015, the "flying ears" continuously hit and the copyright scandal between him and My Dung caused his life and career to fall into a dead end.
Huynh Tien Khoa said that he was born in a poor village in Go Vap district. From the moment he was born, Khoa's father left, his mother had to struggle to raise his children alone. When he was two or three years old, when he could walk, Khoa would follow his mother's manicure basket everywhere to make a living. At the age of five, Khoa knows how to take care of himself, wash the dishes himself after eating. When I was a little older, I knew how to go to school by myself, cook my own rice and wait for my mother to come home to eat.
Khoa's childhood was the days of wandering around on the streets and in the neighborhood to absorb the needy life of poor workers. But Khoa said: "My mother loves me very much, doesn't let me do anything, just wants me to go to school. My mother was in grade 3, but when I skipped school to play, she was very angry, and she caught me hitting the horizontal and vertical lines."
However, the boy Khoa did not dream of becoming a doctor or engineer as his mother wanted, but nurtured in his heart the dream of becoming an artist. Khoa remembers when he was a child, his house was opposite the temple of Ong Di, or there was a singing troupe that was invited to sing. The little boy loves to watch singing and enjoys sneaking a peek at the costume artists.
When he was five or six years old, Khoa remembered that his mother took him to see a Cai Luong play with a scene of an artist dressed in beautiful clothes pulling a rope flying on the stage like a fairy, which made Khoa fall in love. After graduating from high school, Khoa entered the actor class of the School of Theater and Cinema.
In his second year, Khoa was invited to play an important role in a big play that resonated, the role of Dien in Endless Field directed by Minh Nguyet. He then received a national silver medal for this role. After graduating, Khoa was accepted to act in Drama 5B, Saigon Flat Drama..., then won the second silver medal with the play Tunnel.
There was a time when Khoa returned to directing school, worked as a director of a few plays, then performed for the Pure Viet stage, then turned to writing comedy skits for many comedy groups, many comedy shows, many famous comedians in the profession...
Thinking that such a career is fine, but not many people know that Khoa once played comedy in artist Nhat Cuong's group with a remuneration of just over a bowl of beef noodles per show. There was a long year without money to live, he had to ask for his mother's money. Khoa also went to the US to make a living for a long time by doing nails and making pho. But then he missed his job, unable to stand life in the US, Khoa was determined to return to Vietnam to try his luck again.
