Crown Prince Fumihito reveals the truth behind the noisy marriage of his daughter Mako and Kei Komuro

Japan's Crown Prince Fumihito is known to have an outspoken personality. In the new book Akishinomiya, penned by veteran journalist Emori Keiji, Crown Prince Fumihito reveals "secret history" stories and his thoughts on matters of the imperial family.

In Akishinomiya, the book that takes his title, Crown Prince Fumihito admits that from the moment he was born, he himself has lived in a state of "limited freedom".

"Around me are servants who appear all the time, everywhere. This limits my freedom. After all, I, like many others, will sometimes feel suffocated," the Japanese crown prince wrote in a new book. .

In the new book, the Crown Prince also talks about the turbulent marriage of his eldest daughter Mako, who left the royal family after marrying the commoner Kei Komuro. The crown prince said things went very smoothly at first in May 2017 when Mako announced her engagement. The Crown Prince and his wife happily agreed and supported their daughter's decision.
