Marburg is classified in group A in the Law on Prevention and Control of Infectious Diseases, it is necessary to proactively prevent epidemics from spreading into Vietnam. Group A diseases are defined as extremely dangerous diseases. Covid-19 has been classified as a group A disease since its appearance.

Marburg is an acute infectious disease caused by the Marburg virus. The disease can be transmitted from animals (bats, primates) to humans, spread from person to person through direct contact with blood, body secretions such as urine, sweat, saliva, vomit, milk. mother... Environment and items contaminated by secretions of Marburg patients can also mediate the virus to contact people.

Incubation period 2-21 days, onset with high fever, headache, malaise, then diarrhea, abdominal pain, cramps, nausea, vomiting, bleeding. There is no vaccine or specific treatment for the disease.

Therefore, the Ministry of Health requires monitoring of people on entry at border gates, communities and medical facilities, early detection and testing of suspected cases for isolation, treatment, and epidemiological investigation. Particularly for people entering from countries with epidemics in Africa, monitoring within 21 days.

Last week, the Ministry of Health announced the Infectious Diseases Prevention and Control Plan 2023, stating that the Covid-19 epidemic and other infectious diseases are still basically under control. However, most countries have opened up, the demand for trade and tourism is high while the abnormal weather increases the risk of disease spread.

The Ministry of Health also said that after three years of the Covid epidemic, the rate of vaccination with expanded vaccination was low, immunity decreased, and vaccine-preventive diseases were at increased risk.
