Unlike part 1, the battles with monsters in part 2 have a great impact of the military. In addition, the film focuses on the message, that there are some humans who are more brutal than monsters, constantly making the audience question the nature of humans.

At first glance, the message seems good, the effects are also better than part 1, but viewers feel bored, difficult to absorb the story because of the appearance of too many new characters. The male lead Song Kang is thus caught in the middle of countless different stories, the acting land is shrinking, the middle of the film has almost no effect on the plot.

Not to mention, the constant cramming of new characters also makes the plot disjointed, so these new characters are not even developed, psychologically built as well as the first part.

Comments on movie websites mostly said that the story of "Sweet Home 2" is too long, making it difficult for viewers to focus. Despite being invested with up to 8 episodes and a large cast, it seems to be just a stepping stone, an introduction that the film will have an additional season 3.

There are even many comments that the film is mentioned a lot on social media these days only thanks to the nude scenes of up to 3 male actors, namely Song Kang, Lee Jin Wook and Lee Do Hyun.

Despite the criticism, the most discussed topic surrounding "Sweet Home 2" is the return of Lee Do Hyun. Because, Do Hyun is naturally the main thing of season 1, but his character is said to have died at the end, after a brutal battle for survival.
