Netflix's Squid Game 2, although it won't be released until December 26, has been a sensation on social media and in Korean media since early December, and has recently set an unprecedented record in the history of Korean dramas.

In a conversation with Variety, Hwang shared that he is counting down the days until he can say goodbye to this project and enter a long vacation after completing post-production on season 3. When asked about his next plans, Hwang honestly said that he has not thought of any new projects.

His only wish right now is to escape to a remote island (not the one in Squid Game, of course) to enjoy his days of freedom, undisturbed by calls from Netflix.

"I'm tired of a life that revolves around creating and promoting films. Right now, I'm not thinking about my next project, I'm just dreaming of escaping to a peaceful island, living free days, no phone, no Netflix" - Hwang Dong Hyuk admitted.
