Typhoon No. 3 Yagi and its circulation have caused severe damage to the northern provinces. Especially in the highland provinces, people here have suffered a lot of loss and pain.
Seeing that difficult situation, the owners of Mailisa Beauty Salon spent 20 billion VND and 50 tons of rice to give to the people and built 40 charity houses for poor households and ethnic minorities in Ban Rieng hamlet, Son Lo commune, Bao Lac district, Cao Bang province.
"This amount of mone.y arose because at first we thought we would build a moderate charity house, but the couple set too high a demand for the architect. Building 40 charity houses in Ban Rieng hamlet, Cao Bang is a problem. The roads are steep and dangerous, so all the costs of building the houses are much higher than building in the city. In addition, there are many problems related to the site, roads, electricity and water...", Ms. Mai explained in early October.
Recently, Ms. Mai and Mr. Khanh updated the construction progress of 40 houses in the village of love named after the couple, located in Ban Rieng hamlet, Son Lo commune, Bao Lac district, Cao Bang province. After nearly 1 month, the rough construction has been basically completed. The 40 houses are arranged on a leveled land into 3 levels, with an estimated cost of 17 billion VND.
Each house will be built with a total area of 300m2, of which 70m2 is residential land, the rest are other auxiliary items such as kitchen, toilet, drying yard... "The design of the houses is relatively beautiful, the materials are all the best and most expensive: The roofing sheets are Hoa Sen cold-rolled sheets to prevent heat, Hoa Phat steel, grade 1 Tuynel bricks, non-salt sand is filtered twice, the smallest electrical equipment is also Lioa... ", Ms. Mai wrote on her personal Facebook page.
The "boss" of the beauty industry added that the construction contractor and workers were the ones who built many buildings for her family, traveling from Ho Chi Minh City to Cao Bang to construct, "building as designed".
In particular, the business couple also focused on understanding and respecting the culture and customs of ethnic minorities. In particular, the couple consulted with 210 people from 40 households, mainly ethnic minorities, and adjusted the house design to suit the actual needs of the people.
For example, when they learned that the villagers liked to cook with wood stoves to smoke their food and wanted to put the toilet outside the house, they discussed with the architect to adjust the design accordingly. Because businessmen Hoang Kim Khanh - Mailisa believed in building for the villagers, not for themselves, they would accommodate whatever the villagers wanted, as long as they were happy. And the design was agreed upon and unanimously agreed upon by the local leaders and all the villagers.
It is expected that the entire house, documents, land title, and keys will be handed over to the people on January 14, about 3 months after the groundbreaking ceremony. Ms. Mai and her husband are also responsible for purchasing household items such as beds, fans, tables, chairs, bedding, etc.
During the groundbreaking ceremony, Mr. Khanh and Mrs. Mai shared their emotional feelings about the mission of this project. "Mai Khanh and his wife hope that these houses will become a solid home, a place for families to settle down, helping people stabilize their lives and overcome losses and difficulties," Ms. Mai shared.
Ms. Mai's charity story received a lot of support on social networks. However, many people also questioned the transparency or the "statement" for the businesswoman. In response, Ms. Mai affirmed that the mone.y for charity was all her and her husband's "own mone.y", and did not call for any individual or organization. The entire process of giving gifts to the people was approved by the local government.
