Recently, the support of Northerners by businesswoman Mailisa (real name Phan Thi Mai, often called "my boss Mailisa", born in 1975) is receiving attention from the online community.
Recently, businessman Hoang Kim Khanh revealed an unexpected situation that occurred during a charity trip to Cao Bang with his wife and staff.
According to Mr. Hoang Kim Khanh, after the whole delegation and the leadership of Bao Lac district, Cao Bang province traveled for 3 hours from the town to Rien village to survey the construction site for 40 charity houses for the people, Ms. Phan Thi Mai's left eye showed signs of pain and she could not open her eye.
This businessman said that Mrs. Phan Thi Mai had to cry even though she was a person who could endure pain well, so he and his group took his wife to Bac Kan General Hospital for immediate emergency care.
Mr. Hoang Kim Khanh expressed his concern about his wife's health after many days of continuous charity work because he wanted to support people in the flood-hit areas of the North to stabilize their lives. "Now my wife is in the emergency room, I'm sitting outside, worried and guessing, not knowing if it's because of overwork, the changing weather, erratic sun and rain, dust and water, why is she in so much pain," the businessman wrote on the evening of September 25.
After 13 hours of posting, the video recording the image of the "beauty queen" Mailisa being hospitalized has attracted 347,000 views and tens of thousands of interactions. Many netizens expressed their admiration for the charity work of the couple Phan Thi Mai - Hoang Kim Khanh.
On the morning of September 26, when Ms. Phan Thi Mai was discharged from the hospital, the beauty salon owner and her husband continued their charity journey in Thuong Nong commune, Na Hang district, Tuyen Quang province. The "beauty salon boss" and her husband supported 372 million VND and gifts for 746 poor households in difficult circumstances.
The couple shared that the journey to the charity site was very difficult as the road was steep, with mountains on one side and abysses on the other, and many sections of the road were dangerously eroded. However, they still found a way to get there and hand-deliver the gifts to the people.
During the second charity event in Cao Bang province, Ms. Phan Thi Mai and Mr. Hoang Kim Khanh gave 50 tons of rice and 500 million VND in cash to 2,500 poor people in remote areas, in especially difficult circumstances, suffering from natural disasters and floods in the Luc Khu highlands (7 communes) in Ha Quang district.
In the first phase, Mailisa Beauty Salon supported the disaster victims with 3 billion VND in cash and 50 tons of rice, and the next phase was 7 billion VND in cash, bringing the total to 10 billion VND. The kindness of "boss Mai" and his wife received many compliments from the online community.
The journey to bring 50 tons of rice to the highlands was not simple, from choosing a vehicle with the right tonnage to transporting it through dangerous roads. Ms. Mai still decided to buy rice from Saigon to control the quality and was willing to pay the transportation cost of more than 200 million VND so that people could receive bags of delicious, standard rice.
Previously, the couple, who own Mailisa Beauty Salon, had made many trips to give gifts to the people in the mountainous areas. They also gave 1 billion VND in cash to Nu village, Lao Cai province and 225 million VND to the people of Chau Que Ha district, Yen Bai province.
A notable point is that the large amount of money and 50 tons of rice were all paid for by the businessman couple completely out of their own pocket, without soliciting donations from any other individual or organization.
Not only stopping at giving gifts, this trip is also an opportunity for Mailisa to directly survey the situation, prepare to build 40 charity houses for families in especially difficult circumstances, whose houses have been eroded, and are living in temporary houses. The businesswoman affirmed that she will try her best within 2-3 months, people in flood-hit areas can receive new, spacious houses.
