Rapper Obito: Who is the owner of the hit "Simple Love" who candidly claims to be "qualified to be a Vietnamese Rap coach"?

Emerging as a phenomenon, Obito's name became widely known in underground circles and towards mainstreams. The 10x rapper has also made "shocking" statements before.

Obito, real name Li Guofeng, was born on September 20, 2001. Despite his relatively young age, this guy has quickly emerged as an internet phenomenon. The proof is that the guy has participated in quite a few cult South-North war raps. Appearing prominently with his extremely personality and unique style, he has left an impression in the hearts of fans.

Phong is considered an excellent rapper in Vietnamese rap with the ability to use word play, scheme, angle quite well and flow "harsh". However, he has also been criticized for the ending of his songs that are a bit "sloppy" and some controversial statements in the early stages of his career.

Explaining why he chose the stage name Obito, he shared: "I was inspired by a character in the Naruto manga called Obito. As for why I like this character, anyone who has read or watched this comic will probably understand."

Currently, Obito is the youngest member of OTĐ (Original Tay Do), along with that, he is also a typical member of the OCEAN MOB team.

Originally from people playing games together and forming a common group called "Stay Here Just to Play Games", the three letters OTD also mean Original West Do. The name OTD was born from there and quickly became one of the most popular rap groups in the South.

Obito has been fascinated with music since he was still ... don't know anything yet. Obito has had an interest in music since he was very young, the rapper shared: "When I was a kid, I used to sing a song, I liked any song to practice singing" so from there, Obito's sense of rhythm and melody was formed, until he grew up he often watched foreign singers like Justin Bieber, One Direction,... Perform and then learn by looking at their mouths and then practice pronouncing notes and English along.

When it comes to rapping, Obito said he's been listening to it since he was 8 to 9, but the first rap the 10x rapper heard was Lil Shady's "Tomorrow." By the end of the 9th grade, Obito began to practice songwriting and nurtured his passion for music.

After the unexpected success of the song "Simple Love", Obito is the owner of the song, which has been on social media for a long time. In the music video, Obito collaborated with the rap vocals of his best friend Seachains and singer Lena. The song has a catchy melody that brings a new breath of air to help viewers have moments of comfort. Therefore, the song quickly asserted to occupy a high position and become a trend in the online community.

It can be said that after the song Simple Love, his name was confirmed and became more widely known. The 10x guy began to seriously enter the music market with many new songs and products.

When asked about the changes in his life since "Simple Love" became a hit at the time, Obito said his life can be said to have changed 360 degrees. There are more people interested in Obito, more embracing the rapper and having expectations for his next products. To embrace all of that at the age of 18 also has many emotional dimensions, negative yes, positive also. However, Obito feels lucky to have met Seachains, had the song Simple Love, had the opportunity to meet more people, and experienced many things at a young age.

But also from here, the rapper was accidentally labeled "one hit wonder" by the online community - which can be roughly understood as someone who only has one hit song. As for being a "one hit wonder" for Phong, he doesn't feel anything because when he goes on tour or even interacts with fans, the 10x rapper has never seen anyone call him by that name. From Obito's point of view, Simple Love is just one of the products in his long musical journey. Therefore, the rapper feels proud of it and will try to be proud of more products in the future.

Obito is gradually pursuing the path from underground to mainstream in the Vietnamese rap scene. He wants rap and hip hop to be not only a personal passion but also a music genre loved by a large number of listeners. Together with the OTD team, Obito is working towards that goal.

After the success of Simple Love, Obito went on to release solo songs such as Your Smile, When You Look At Me, and Lost. Although they did not surpass the success of Simple Love, these products were still positively received by fans. The audience appreciated Obito's talent and creativity, and believed that he could shine in both performing and composing.

The couple Obito and Seachains held a press conference to launch the MV Lost with the presence of many Underground artists, contestants from the first 2 shows Rap Viet and King Of Rap.

The Lost MV also confirmed that Obito and Seachains "joined" the Def Jam label, which is the place where many artists such as Justin Bieber, Kanye West, Big Sean, Nas ,...

In 2021, Obito participated in Rap Viet season 2 and joined coach Binz's team. Despite always facing criticism for his past actions and statements, it is now undeniable that Obito is a prominent young rapper in the Vietnamese rap scene.

In the press conference, when asked by host Nicky (MONSTAR): "Currently, 2 rap shows, Rap Viet and King Of Rap, are very h.ot, if you are chosen for the team of 1 of 8 coaches of 2 shows, who will you choose".

While Seachains chose to join Suboi, Obito replied rather "arrogantly": "Because I feel like I was born to be a coach!" but then "fired" in time: "I'm just joking! Since I'm busy filming the music video, I'm joking!"

Obito – a potential Gen Z face in the Vietnamese rap scene – has made his mark with his talent and artistic investment. With continuous growth, Obito is becoming one of the top names in the rap community and is expected in the future.
