It is known that artist Ly Hai's company signed a contract with Quach Beem's music. At the same time, permission was granted to use the song "Ganh Mother" in the movie Flip Face 4.

In October 2019, Poet Truong Minh Nhat confirmed that the song "Carry Mom" has lyrics that match his poem. Accusing musician Quach Beem of using the poem's lyrics without permission. Poet Truong Minh Nhat asked Quach Beem's music side to apologize. At the same time, adjust the publications with the song "Ganh Mother" in the author's section to include Quach Beem's music and Truong Minh Nhat's lyrics.

During the agreement process, due to disagreements, the two sides have not yet made a unanimous decision. The People's Court of Ho Chi Minh City accepted this case file in December 2019. This copyright dispute event has caused a big wave on social networks.

On the afternoon of April 25, the People's Court of Ho Chi Minh City issued a first-instance verdict on the case of "Intellectual property rights dispute" between poet Truong Minh Nhat and Mr. Doan Dong Duc (a.k.a. musician Quach Beem), the Company. Ly Hai Production LLC (founded by singer Ly Hai).

After many days of trial and deliberation, the first instance jury recognized the author of the poem "Ganh Mother" as Mr. Truong Minh Nhat. The reason is because the jury found that Quach Beem (real name Doan Dong Duc) appealed but had no documents or evidence other than the contents reviewed and evaluated by the First Instance Court.

Sharing with the media, Mr. Truong Minh Nhat was completely satisfied with the Court's ruling, felt he had regained his honor and protected his sacred feelings when writing the poem Ganh Mother.

It is known that at the first instance trial in August 2020, the lawyer representing Mr. Nhat announced a change in the compensation request of 4 billion VND to 825 million VND.

At the first instance trial in April 2022, Quach Beem said he started composing music and lyrics for the song Ganh Me in October 2013 but could not prove it.

The appraisal board concluded that the lyrics of Quach Beem's song Ganh Mother are similar to the lyrics of Mr. Nhat's poem Ganh Mother in terms of words and punctuation, with 6 small differences that do not affect the overall outcome.

Quach Beem paid Mr. Nhat 7.5 million VND, equivalent to 1/2 of the value of the copyright sale contract between him and Ly Hai Production, 14.9 million VND for mental expenses, and 100 million VND for hiring a lawyer.

However, last May, Quach Beem appealed the entire first instance verdict, still asserting that the lyrics of the song Ganh Me were composed by him, not by Mr. Truong Minh Nhat.

Quach Beem not only has a successful music career. He also has an extremely happy private life. He married his wife Tran Ngoc Diem Chau. Currently, she is managing all the work for her husband.
