After overcoming many challenges in the Sing! Asia Finals, Phuong My Chi once again made her fans proud when she shined with her own unique musical style. Notably, backstage, the Vietnamese 'general' unexpectedly welcomed a 'high-level' fan.
On her personal page, Phuong My Chi expressed her happiness when she was encouraged and supported by her domestic fans: "I feel like I really have a lot of "family" who love me. Before or after a performance, I always think of the audience, who have been looking forward to each of my performances and watching it with pride. When I have such quality "family", I feel like I am not at a disadvantage in the international arena."
But what surprised 'Sister Bay' the most was the appearance of Ms. Le Duc Hanh - Consul General of Vietnam in Hong Kong and Macau, wearing an ao dai, carrying fresh flowers and personally coming backstage at Sing! Asia to encourage and cheer her on: " On the day of the final night, there was an appearance that made Chi really touched and extremely honored. That was Ms. Le Duc Hanh - Consul General of Vietnam in Hong Kong and Macau, she wore a Vietnamese ao dai backstage to encourage and give flowers to Chi.
She told Chi to do her best and make the country proud! When it was time to perform, she and her uncles, aunts, brothers and sisters from Vietnam News Agency sat in the front row with the national flag stuck on their cheeks, holding flags and banners to cheer for Chi. Oh, Chi only dared to look a few times because she was afraid she would burst into tears on stage with this emotion and honor.
Not only Phuong My Chi, but also for Vietnamese fans, this is an extremely beautiful image, from a high-ranking leader to an artist, it shows the desire and dedication for the greater common goal of promoting Vietnamese culture to international friends. Really proud!
In the final night, Phuong My Chi's performance was still carefully staged but somehow did not leave a strong impression like the previous rounds. The Sing! Asia 2025 final took place with 3 rounds of direct elimination. In the first round, the contestants were paired to perform duets with guest artists.
Phuong My Chi sang the song "Lac troi" with singer Hoang Linh. The song is a hit by Son Tung M-TP, sung by Phuong My Chi and Hoang Linh in Vietnamese and Chinese.
The song has Chinese lyrics rewritten by Dao Tu A1J. Hoang Linh performed this part with a graceful, magical voice. Meanwhile, Phuong My Chi sang the Vietnamese lyrics with emotion. Afterwards, Phuong My Chi won 202.8 points, topping the first round.
In the next round, the Vietnamese representative chose the song " Chopsticks " - a new composition by DTAP .
Inspired by the story of a bundle of chopsticks in Vietnamese culture, DTAP and Phuong My Chi expanded that image into a message of solidarity, friendship and the power of connection between Asian countries.
The performance used 5 languages including Vietnamese, Chinese, Thai, Japanese and English as a way to show diversity and cultural exchange. "Chopsticks" concluded Phuong My Chi's journey at Sing! Asia 2025.
However, this performance was not considered as explosive as the previous rounds, typically "Bong Van Hoa" in the quarter-finals.
The performance "Chopsticks" incorporates a variety of cultural elements from different countries, but this blend makes Phuong My Chi's personal color lacking. The Vietnamese folk culture that once made her mark is also not prominent in this song.
In addition, the performance "Lac troi" by Phuong My Chi and Hoang Linh is also considered safe.
In the latter part of the performance, 30 children appeared in traditional costumes representing Asian countries, creating an emotional image. With the performance "Chopsticks" which was carefully invested in both music and cultural message, Phuong My Chi won 406.8 points, ranking 3rd overall at the final night of Sing! Asia 2025.
Judge Truong Luong Dinh commented that the Vietnamese singer's performance of "Chopsticks" was well-prepared and meticulously choreographed. "She not only put meaning into the music but also into her entire performance. Phuong My Chi challenged herself by performing such a difficult song."
Because the song was too difficult and had to carry a strong message of cultural connection, the performance had a touching, proud tone, lacking the explosive climax of Miyuna's performance.
