The final round of " Sing! Asia 2025" has officially ended at the Macao station (China), leaving many emotions in the hearts of the audience. Phuong My Chi brought 2 unique stages but still missed the Championship award.
Impressive opening with the hit "Lac troi" Vietnamese - Chinese version
The final night of "Sing! Asia 2025" took place with three dramatic elimination rounds. In the first round, the contestants were paired up to perform duets with guest artists. This was a challenge in terms of their ability to coordinate and handle the stage. After this round, one contestant was eliminated, leaving only three contestants to move on to the next round.
Here, Phuong My Chi sang a duet with "Ma Vuong" Hoang Linh with the hit "Lac Troi" by Son Tung M-TP, but in a completely new Vietnamese - Chinese bilingual version. The harmonious combination and strategic thinking of the team completely convinced the experts. The performance brought in the highest score - 202.8 points, making My Chi the leading contestant in the first round of the final night and winning the right to move on to the second round.
The message "Bundle of Chopsticks" in 5 languages conquers the audience
Riding on the momentum, Phuong My Chi delivered a performance that was full of the spirit of regional connection with the song "Chopsticks". Inspired by the story of a bundle of chopsticks in Vietnamese culture, she and DTAP expanded that image into a message of solidarity, friendship, and the power of connection between Asian countries.
The performance was elaborately staged, using five languages including Vietnamese, Chinese, Thai, Japanese and English as a way to express diversity and cultural exchange. DTAP cleverly incorporated the sound of broken chopsticks in the opening â a detail rich in symbolism, along with traditional ethnic instruments such as the monochord, zither and the sound of chopsticks being knocked.
Phuong My Chi showed her stage presence by handling the climaxes well, fully conveying the pride and aspiration of the young generation. With this meaningful performance, she won 406.8 points.
Closing the final night, Phuong My Chi stopped at 3rd place. 2nd place was Chu Phi Ca (China) with a score of 407.6, while the Sing! Asia 2025 Champion title was awarded to Miyuna (Japan) with a total score of 411. Although not reaching the highest position, the performance of the Vietnamese representative was still considered one of the special artistic marks, leaving many emotions in the hearts of international audiences.
However, this result still shocked Vietnamese fans. With the victory in the first round, Phuong My Chi should have had an advantage over the other contestants, at least the runner-up. In addition, her performance in the second round was impeccable. So why did she stop at 3rd place? Is the Sing! Asia Organizing Committee mocking the Vietnamese representative?
Another hypothesis was put forward by the show's side that Phuong My Chi would win the highest score in the performance with the guest singer to appease public opinion, while the final result had been decided long ago. However, all of this was just speculation from netizens.
Emotional sharing and final results
For her part, after losing the championship, Phuong My Chi shared about her journey in the competition. "To me, Asia is no longer something far away in books or on TV screens, but appears close right in this competition.
I feel the Asian spirit from the smallest things, from the way the contestants tell stories, behave, to the very unique culture of each country. The Asia that I see are really cute, profound and inspiring friends."
DTAP, who accompanied Phuong My Chi, also shared the reason for choosing the image of chopsticks for the important performance. "In the eyes of the world, Asians are often seen as short and light. But when those chopsticks are tied together into a bundle, they become strong and not easily broken. That is the message we want to send to Sing!Asia. Each Asian country maintains its own identity, but knowing how to unite and connect will create a confident and powerful collective."
